Date of visit - August 30th 2021. 11:30am.
First of all - the positives: The place was beautiful. The wine was good.
Now for the visit:
We visited a few wine caves and vineyards during our stay in Chinon. Plouzeau was by far the least enjoyable. We were met.... No, tolerated, by a less than interested member of staff. From the moment we entered the cave we felt like an inconvenience. She was most rude. We bought a lot of wine that day. But not from Plouzeau. Sure, we bought a few bottles because the wine was good. But we would have bought much more if we were engaged with.
Every tasting we asked for was like getting blood from a stone. Some we asked to try and were just ignored. The lady couldn't get back to her computer fast enough.
We can speak enough French to get by and were with a French native - so language barrier definitely wasn't an issue. All I can think is that either the lady working that day was having a really bad day..... Or, she really was just incredibly rude. Won't go again. All the others we visited were welcoming, engaging, informative and a pleasure...
