Date of visit - August 30th 2021. 11:30am. First of all - the positives: The place was beautiful. The wine was good. Now for the visit: We visited a few wine caves and vineyards during our stay in Chinon. Plouzeau was by far the least enjoyable. We were met.... No, tolerated, by a less than interested member of staff. From the moment we entered the cave we felt like an inconvenience. She was most rude. We bought a lot of wine that day. But not from Plouzeau. Sure, we bought a few bottles because the wine was good. But we would have bought much more if we were engaged with. Every tasting we asked for was like getting blood from a stone. Some we asked to try and were just ignored. The lady couldn't get back to her computer fast enough. We can speak enough French to get by and were with a French native - so language barrier definitely wasn't an issue. All I can think is that either the lady working that day was having a really bad day..... Or, she really was just incredibly rude. Won't go again. All the others we visited were welcoming, engaging, informative and a pleasure to buy from.

Picturesque cave at the end of the historic town. Small but one would get the experience of a cave setting at no cost. Wine tasting available but when busy the so called wine connoisseurs take over so push in and enjoy.

So french original experience! Like it very much! Wines dégustation in the middle of historical winery just underneath the fortress!! Bottles are affordable. Must do!
