Great wine and even beer wine! The owner is fantastic! He has great knowledge of wines. Speaks good english and takes the time to explain all he knows about the wine you order. Perfect place to stop at this lovely town. If you are hungry and you want a snack, stay away from the cafes in the center which are tourist traps, get a pate or cheese plate here and you will be all set!

just confirming all other reviews: quirky owner who will share his passion for (hyper local) wine. he asked us what grapes we liked, then came serving two local gems that he matched for us. accompanied by a cheese and bread platter that was exquisite. the perfect pre-dinner drink and snack!

A quirky and very French owner who’ll serve you wonderful local wines based on your preferences. If you’re looking for some amuse bouche to our the drinks with, go for the plates of charcuterie or fromage 🧀

The wine was good, but we had a misunderstanding due to one employee telling us the tasting was free if we bought wine - so we had a tasting in which we each received 3 pours and some brief information about the wines in English. After, we bought a 16€ bottle of wine from the first employee, since we thought we were supposed to buy wine, but then as we were leaving, the other man said we also needed to pay 7€ each for the tasting. We explained our confusion about what we were told originally, and he said well we tried 5 wines and that is expensive so we didn't argue and just paid, but 7€ each for 3 pours seems like a lot. We should have taken a random chance and bought a glass each - would have been much cheaper. Our experience at Cave Montplaisir a 15-min walk away was much better - we had 5 pours each there for free, plus a free wine cave to explore. The staff over there was also much more friendly and welcoming and didn't make us feel judged for not knowing much about...
