Café De La Paix — Restaurant in Chinon

Had a delicious 3 course meal here! Started off with a decadent roasted Camembert that was perfectly creamy and came with some yummy crouton-like bread for dipping (though I did also use the table bread to dip in the cheese, and that was good too). Then I had the burger which was delicious! I personally didn’t like the cheese on it (too strong) so I wasn’t able to finish it which made the chef sad (they clearly take pride here in their food and customer experience), but I still had plenty of food given the side salad and generous portion of tasty fries. FYI based on this and other restaurants I’ve been to, France’s version of “medium” seems to be like US’s version of “medium rare” so order accordingly. For dessert, I had a wonderful crème brûlée that I will remember for a long time - perfect mixture of creamy, sweet, and crunchy. This is a place to leisurely savor a delicious meal and good conversation, not a quick stop while you’re under time pressure to get to...

👉 🇪🇦 Hoy por razones de trabajo estuve en el bonito Chinon, cómo no tomarse el tiempo para visitar la ciudad y lo mejor vivir la experiencia de sus extraordinaria gastronómica y en este caso Café de la Paix. Con un sol brillante, una brisa fresca la opción fue comer en la terraza y yo les recomiendo esta opción. Para el aperitivo, si andas de trabajo, un 🍹 coctel sin alcohol, el mío estaba estupendo y refrescante. Hay entradas diferentes y con productos locales al igual que los platos principales. El café ☕ una delicia. Las chicas que atienden, a pesar de ser dos, en el momento que fui, dinámicas, sonrientes y profesionales. Excelente servicio. Este lugar tiene una terraza para el aperitivo, café u refrescarte en la acera del frente donde una vista increíble al río Vienne, hará aún más agradable la visita. 💯 Por cierto recomendado. 🇫🇷👉Aujourd'hui pour des raisons professionnelles j'étais dans la belle Chinon, comment ne pas prendre le temps de visiter la ville et vivre au mieux l'expérience de son extraordinaire gastronomie et en l'occurrence du Café de la Paix. Avec un soleil éclatant, une brise fraîche, l'option était de manger en terrasse et je recommande cette option. Pour l'apéritif, si vous êtes au travail, un 🍹 cocktail sans alcool, le mien était super et rafraîchissant. Il existe différentes entrées et avec des produits locaux ainsi que les plats principaux. Super welcoming service, generous portions of good quality food, amazing desserts (tiramasu fans were very happy) at very reasonable prices - so glad the pizza restaurant in the square was overbooked unhelpful and frankly rude, and we ended up here, the food far exceeded our expectations, the wine was really good, the staff speedy and charming.
