Bit of a climb but definitely worth it. Once you get to the fort, you have an amazing view of the bay which is great for taking photo's with your friends/relatives/lover. During the high season there are musical performances sometimes, make sure you check with the locals if you want to catch a show or look for posters with information. Grimaud itself is also beautiful and typical Southern French, it's almost as if time stood still here. Very romantic. For the best parking / walking route, make sure you take the road leading up on the right side of the fountain just after you enter the village from the coast. Read moreChateau de Grimaud is actually the fortress ruins on top of the town of Grimaud. It is free to explore so if you're in the area, this is a must.
You can take the 7702 Varlib bus to get here, by getting of at 'Grimaud Village' or 'Gimaud: Les Migraniers'. Make sure you keep in mind the time schedules because the regional buses depend on the season (vac été/hors vac été). No buses will come to get you after 20:00, so plan ahead.
