We were on a cruise in Nov. 2024 and visited Pointe-a-Pitre on Guadeloupe for a day. So I booked a guide in advance for a 6 hours fishing tour. Flyfishing only. The joung guy who guided me was Mika, who is an excellent flyfisher - familiar with different spots in the whole area. He picked me up with his clean boat in the middle of Pointe-a-Pitre. When I booked this experience, I was hoping that our group of seven would catch at least one or two of the big fish pictured here. The reality exceeded our expectations. During our six hours at sea, everyone in our party caught a big fish, some as many as five. The icing on the cake was a half-hour fight of about 1.5m tarpon that our guide hooked.
