A very beautiful and well laid out art gallery.
We visited for a full morning, but could have stayed longer with everything on offer!
We got in straight away and we're through the bag check quickly. Buying a ticket was easy, and also a very, very reasonable price for everything on offer.
We started at the top of the building, with the paintings, and made our way down. The small gallery map was very helpful and helped outline where everything was in the gallery.
The paintings on display are fantastic, well displayed and with plenty of light to enjoy them. Almost every room had plenty of space to sit as well, perfect to sit and enjoy the space or to rest tored feet.
Plenty of big names in the gallery, and many at eye height so you could really have a good look at them.
During our visit there was at least one school group looking at the paintings and completing school tasks - amazing to see!
After we'd enjoyed the paintings we had a quick look at the sculptures before heading to the basement level. We didn't stay long as we were getting hungry, but we particularly liked a section where two saint statues were illustrated with their original colours, and the large sculpture that looked as if it was covered in a sheet.
We had lunch at the cafe, and it was fresh and delicious. We both had the quiche lunch deal and were surprised with the decent portions and how tasty everything was - we'd definitely recommend!
All in all a fab gallery and one we would return to in...

There would be security check when you first entering the building. I think this made sense since lately there are many attempts destroying fine arts on purpose.
We went to the museum on Sunday. Eventhough we did not buy the tickets in advance. The ticketing process was very fast. We paid only €8 for both me and my boyfriend. They mentioned about there was a discount this week. I think if you are students, you would also have discounts.
We checked in our bags, got the museum map and started exploring the museum. There are 3 floors, top floor with all the fine painting, temporary exhibition. The ground floor you can find library, resting space, souvenir and a Cafe. If you go down one more floor, there are sculpture and antique.
Beside all the fine arts, we found a meditation experiment in the ground floor quite fascinating. They have a tent where you can come in, laying down on beanbags, relaxing and watching a painting. Isn't that wonderful. I think it was quite wholesome. The longer I looked at the painting, more details I found out. I think that was the whole point the museum set this up.
Was very...
