Look no further for a super entertain the kids on a wet afternoon adventure. It's anybody who ever had a model railway dream trip out but it's also created with stunning attention to detail and a sense of humour in the "who is where and with whom" miniature crowds (expect film stars, musical heros, Disney characters even Telly Tubbies in a golf-cart!). Enough to keep keen eyed adults busy. The moving parts are not just model trains but vehicles, ski lifts, dancers and scaters too. Every 20-minutes the whole exhibition goes from dawn to dusk and tiny streetlights, car headlights and illuminated hoardings plus night skies reveal a new vision of mini world. Finally, a three set display of Lyon's landmarks that gets a fête de la lumiere display at night. Decent WCs, free lockers, stroller parking area and a café inside. Don't miss,...look over the controllers' shoulders at all the CCTV cameras, as several screens give the view from the trains. Visit time, allow at least a couple of hours. And, it's a short walk from...
Read moreI'm absolutely obsessed with this place! In terms of square meters, it's not really that big. However, because the displays are made of miniatures, there's so much to see. I thought I would maybe spend 30-45 minutes here, but before I knew it, two hours had passed by. There are so many interesting and silly details to explore in the displays, such as someone hanging on for dear life off a derailed roller coaster cart and a murder scene in an apartment building. The mini Lyon feature is amazing. It has all the important Lyon landmarks, although some stuff isn't geographically correct, but who cares when it's all there and accurately depicted. If you're a local, the annual pass is totally worth it because it's just a hair over two times the cost of one adult admission. This is a family-friendly place, but adults will enjoy it as much as...
Read moreNot suitable for everyone who has already seen the bigger brother in Hamburg. Absolutely no comparison: Mini World lacks details, originality and quality: no weathering, even 300 yr old buildings look like newly constructed, some walls have even been cut out of printed paper. The cars are mostly 1:1 bought and often misplaced. There is hardly any motion: nearly no car moves, maybe 2 or 3 trains are in motion. Weird arrangements of things (see photos): lego buildings, bought toy robots etc.
A lot is not working: trains stand still, half of the button functions is not working or so unspectacular that you don’t realize it. Light flashes where it shouldn‘t. At night all lights are either on or off, no realistic gradual light changes.
Only plus was the newly added Jurassic Park model which was built with a bit more love.
A lot is...
