Good to know before you go: absolutely ZERO liquids allowed inside. No water, no bear spray, no deodorant. Security will take it from you. All but the smallest bags have to be stored in lockers. You need a 1 Euro coin to operate it. The coin is returned when you retrieve your bag.

Read moreA very elegant and well-stocked museum, it's a shame I was there near closing time. There are so many interesting objects. I would just like to recommend, if possible, better organization. Instead of having us leave all our belongings in one place, we were asked to leave disinfectants first, and then umbrellas and then again to put the backpack in front (by a guard who, moreover, did not understand English). Read moreI highly recommend this museum even if you stay in Nantes for only one day, especially for overseas travelers. The building itself is very beautiful with elegant wood panel decoration. There are numerous beautiful collections, most with English explanation or introduction of the historical background. Also the museum has put a lot of effort to multimedia education, which is intriguing and manages to hold attention of both kids and adults.
