Read moreAs beautiful of a view this café offers, I will never return based on the condescending treatment that we encountered. It seems that there is an unmentioned formal dress code and you will be accepted or rejected a spot based on your appearance. When visiting Eze we asked if there was room at the café for lunch, in fluent French. I understand that often a reservation is required but what happened next is what was disappointing. The greeter looked my boyfriend and I up and down and replied “No. We have no room at any of our restaurants for you today.” The way it was delivered was cold and rude. He replied, “You’re completely full everywhere?” She answered, “Yes.” We were not dressed for a hike or the beach but we were also not in silk gowns and blazers. Seconds later, a group asked the same question, “Do you have any space at the café?” The greeter loudly replied “Yes!! We can take you right away!!” She admitted that group and completely ignored us. The view is not worth treating people in such a pompous and superficial way. My friends have cancelled their upcoming...
Read more10/10 for location - is a once in a lifetime experience for sure, totally captivating. The one thing that let us down was the food - it's difficult to plan in advance (as you have to make the reservation ahead of time) whether any food is to your liking with the constantly changing seasonal menu and different lunches of the day - the waitress recommended some dishes of the day and having described a pastry with chicken and mushroom, we thought this sounded lovely and was pretty much mortified to receive freezing cold luncheon meat in some pastry! 36€ for this which is pretty shocking, tried to explain to the waitress that this was not what we were expecting from her description at all and even asked her if she'd tried it herself but she laughed it off (why are they recommending terrible food they haven't tried🥲) and apologised. Overall is worth going for the location and view and just choose wisely...
