Chez Jean-Marc was a special treat. We discovered it quite by accident - and when all the other restaurant patios were full, we found the oasis of Jean-Marc’s garden enclave.
This is a small restaurant and patrons are likely to strike up conversations with other lucky tourists who also manage to find it.
Up a few ancient steps from the “street” we were greeted by Jean-Marc and offered one of 4 tables he has installed in his small enclave terrace.
We were quickly provided his brief but sufficient hand written menu and offered a drink. My wife and I had a lovely bottle of rose and Jean-Marc set to preparing our appetizer salad of local greens, and market vegetables. Food preparation is a bit slow because Jean-Marc was working alone and new patrons required his attention to get seated. But the slow pace is rewarded by expertly prepared dishes and, honestly, some of the best pasta I have ever had.
I believe that Jean-Marc prepares his menu daily and based solely on the best ingredients that he can find at the morning market. He’s really a special chef and i would recommend just asking him what you should eat when you get there.
I don’t know how many people find this spot but I’m confident that those that are adventurous enough to explore off the beaten path will be rewarded with a memorable experience.
My recommendation is this. Take your time. Meet interesting people. And enjoy the creative art of...
Read moreIt’s a magical place, it felt like home when I were together with my friends. It was our first time in Eze and we were looking for a restaurant to eat dinner. We found this little cozy place and that was the best part of our trip. We stayed for a few hours to enjoy the restaurant and talk with the owner. He does everything by himself, especially when there’s a low season and not so many tourist. We were lucky to find a table there. I’d recommend this place to everyone visiting Azure coast, not only for those who are in Eze! Food is delicious, worth its price and the atmosphere there is...
Read moreWhat a charming restaurant! This restaurant’s run by daughter (she’s the sweetest server!) and a dad (chef Jean Marc) , and was our highlight in Eze. Spicy garlic chili pasta was fabulous and the ambiance is adorable!
If you’re reading the reviews, please do yourself a favor and ignore the 1 star ones. Those are left by miserable snobs or people who don’t understand that going to a high traffic tourist destination will have somewhat pricey food but it’s absolutely...
