Whether you are a history enthusiast, an architecture admirer, or simply seeking a picturesque setting, the Château de Saumur is a must-visit. Its grandeur, coupled with its serene location, make it an unforgettable experience.

The fortress is a visually stunning structure set amidst picturesque surroundings. Its imposing size necessitates a short walk from the car park. As a testament to the region's renowned viticulture, the château is conveniently located near numerous wineries, making it an ideal destination following a wine tasting tour. Visitors will find both public restroom facilities and dining options in...

What a beautiful building, so imposing, old and with a beautiful view over the region and the Loire.

In addition, what is shown is very monotonous, a lot of China porcelain and horse riding gears and accessories. We would have preferred that the rooms gave an impression of how people lived.

Perhaps an audio tour would be a good addition? With exciting stories so that it is also more fun for children.

Despite everything, we are glad we...

However, it's not expensive (6€ for adults and the kids went free), so pretty good value. If you want to buy your child a sword and shield, don't make my mistake of buying in the gift shop - go down into the town where they're literally...
