Bistrot Les Tontons — Restaurant in Saumur

Great bistro in Saumur located in Place Saint-Pierre by the Eglise Saint-Pierre and below the Chateau. Plenty of tables outside for people watching and to enjoy the timbered structure opposite and the church which is magnificent. We enjoyed a lovely plat de jour with local wine, the staff were very friendly and endured our attempts to parlais franglais with good humour. Definitely recommended - only lost 1-star for Atmosphere because of the cars allowed through the Place Saint-Pierre which I personally...

Très déçu, on m'a recommandé l'adresse plusieurs fois alors j'ai cru bon d'y aller. Le service est rapide, le personnel est agréable et la carte des vins est vraiment chouette. Mais c'est tout pour les points positifs, la cuisine est vraiment pas bonne et pourtant je suis tolérant. L'œuf parfait n'est pas un œuf parfait mais un œuf mollet trop cuit, la sauce est correcte mais trop salée. Le ceviche est sans jus et n'est pas acide, donc il n'a pas mariné assez longtemps. Le magret de canard commandé rosé est trop cuit aussi et insipide, c'est dommage l'accompagnement est pas mauvais... Pour le bagel de saumon, c'est la première fois que je vois un bagel avec un filet de saumon grillé à l'intérieur et non du saumon fumé/gravlax, il faudrait le préciser sur la carte. Le risotto à côté est horrible, on dirait du porridge. Je n'ai pas touché à mon plat. Bref du potentiel mais entâché par la cuisine, c'est dommage c'est...
