Madame Élisabeth's Estate — Attraction in Versailles

The Domaine de Madame Élisabeth, or estate of Madame Élisabeth, is a haven of tranquility just down the road from that famed palace. It is certainly well worth a visit. The English-style garden is now a beautiful park, open to the public. It features art, poetry, a green tunnel following an old river bed, and houses the vegetable gardens for the restaurants of Parisian Hotel Georges V. The park maintenance is done as organically as possible. Bees play an important role in that, which also means the estate produces honey.

The former home of Madame Élisabeth now serves as a conference center. And for any event, the orangerie is a good place, where they serve delicious finger food and Parisian sparkling wine, from grapes grown in the Yvelines...

The park and house are very lovely & complete a day of visits in Versailles. I highly recommend this place. You can easily imagine the lives of ladies back in Louis XVI & Marie-Antoinette's days ! Je passais devant régulièrement en voiture, avenue de Paris sans savoir que ça se trouvait là. C'est grâce à une amie que j'y suis allée, c'était la 5ème année du Comptoir de Noël, les 3/4 décembre 2022. Il faisait nuit quand j'y suis allée. Découverte des lieux, je ne suis pas entrée à l'intérieur du bâtiment, il y avait bcp d'enfants et de parents qui faisaient la queue. Je me suis dirigée vers l'arrière où se tenait un marché de Noël.
