It's hard to call it a park, they're building a park there now. But if you need a place for quality walks with your dog, then this is just great. You can climb a mountain, you can walk in the shade of trees, there are many paths. In the spring there is very beautiful flowering around, and you can also meet turtles.

I love going here for running walking and doing some bodyweight exercises. It's wild and not renovated and u feel like you are in the forest. Currently, they started renovating the park though the pace is really low and it will probably take ages before it's done. Until then it's running pane is closed.

Former hippodrome, unfortunately today it's somebody's private property. The best place for walking and sports in Saburtalo district. Maybe one day it will be something like NYC Central Park

Former hippodrome, unfortunately today it's somebody's private property. The best place for walking and sports in Saburtalo district. Maybe one day it will be something like NYC Central Park

The old hippodrome is a lovely escape in the centre of Tbilisi. The large centre is grassy and you can always see people playing football, cricket or even medieval re-enactments... Around the edges one can find places to sit, a small play area and trails and walks. The whole area is largely undeveloped which is a blessing and a curse. Whilst there are no kiosks and ice cream vendors, the old racecourse buildings are now broken, full of graffiti and discarded rubbish, giving time parts a neglected look. Billioniee Bidzina Ivanishvili who is the unformal owner of the republic of Georgia has gifted this park to georgians just before elections.

We are so happy "Batono" (means master) Bidzina that we have such a great commu... leader taking care of us all. God bless you.

BTW, The park was gifted, but our Mayor is still building...
