Walking the trails is for free. With older legs one can also buy tickets for one of the lifts to bring you to the higher grounds. Further a visit to Kehlsteinhaus (Eagle's Nest) by bus and Königssee boat trip are to be recommended. I advice to buy tickets online at least one day before. The Kehlsteinhaus I would book for around 8 or 9 AM, then the mountain top is not yet overcrowded. The boat trip for later in the morning or afternoon.
