in 2005 I came to Charite' at the beginning of a very serious illness, in the immunology department, I was diagnosed with Epstein Barr, then I was told that my treatment of choice was psychotherapy (?! ahem, say again? isn't the treatment of choice against viruses something like an antiviral?) then the doctor proceeded to inform me that if I dared to ask for disability and take advantage of the country (I was just visiting!) he would personally persecute me, his words. I was young then, so I didn't really complain or anything, and left the country. Last week in 2016 after a bad accident that left me in great pain, I made the mistake of going to first help at Charite'. First the doctor said "you look too nice to be really in pain" (!), then accidentally he learned about my previous experience with multiple viruses, which "do not exist" (!) and again I was referred to a psychiatrist. On passing I mentioned that I was successfully doing acupuncture for the pain and he said "here we don't believe in negative vibrations" (?!) I don't need to comment. He also asked in a threatening way if I wanted to move to Germany because of their healthcare, implying that I wanted to take advantage of the system. And by the way, he prescribed me the more pernicious drugs ever for pain, even if according to him I was just a crazy person who needed a psychiatrist. Does not compute. If I am not mistaken that guy's name, who clearly was not any kind of doctor, especially not the neurologist he said he was, is Thomas Liman. In any case, if you suffer from EPV or Lyme or possibly a lot of other horrifying illnesses that are not as visible as a broken leg, be warned that at Charite' "they don't believe in them", and the hospital's policy seems to consist in sending bouncers to scare foreigners out of moving to Germany. Go to another hospital, going here is a mistake, and it will cost you time you possibly can't afford to waste. I had a very painful infection and was told that it was not an emergency by the front desk nurse in the Emergency Room, and that I should just go see another doctor. No one looked at me or offered to help, no glance at the infected area, no vital signs taken for fever or high blood pressure. When I asked how long the wait was, the front desk nurse asked me if I was asking how long real emergencies take and repeated that I should leave and go see a doctor. I told them I was in a lot of pain, and they gave me some Ibuprofen and said to call a doctor in the morning. I shuffled out of there defeated. I ended up leaving and calling a more specialized doctor in the morning (I am glad I did). Within 2 minutes of seeing me this doctor sent me straight to another hospital for emergency surgery for the infection so it would not spread into my bloodstream. The doctor I saw knew that I was in a lot of pain and that it was serious, they cared, Charite did not. Hospitals are supposed to help and care for people, this is to me their most core reason for being. Charite hospital failed immensely in doing so. I left feeling worse than when I arrived, not to mention in a more dangerous situation than before. Take care of yourself and please avoid this hospital.

2 Sterne und der einzige Grund dafür ist das essen. Im Januar 2016 bin ich ausgerutscht und hab mir dabei das Knie nicht nur verrenkt sondern ebenfalls einen Patellabruch erlitten. Ich kam in die Notfallambulanz die ich leider absolut nicht empfehlen kann!

Als aller erstes mal haben die Notärzte vor Ort es leider nicht geschafft mein Knie wieder einzurenken. Daher ab ins Krankenhaus wo ich dann erstmal unter starken Schmerzen 2 STUNDEN warten darf bis ein CT gemacht wurde(dabei stellte sich auch der Patellabruch raus) und mir endlich mein Knie wieder eingerenkt wurde!

Ich wurde in der Zeit auch in eine Art Patientenwarteraum mit Betten verfrachtet. Dort ging´s schon los: Da lag eine Frau im Zimmer die im osteuropäischen Dialekt immer wieder nach Wasser gerufen hat: "Hilfe... ich verdurste... Hiiilfeee" 10 Minuten später: Immernoch keiner gekommen um der armen Frau Wasser zu geben. Habe die Krankenschwester gerufen, weitere 5 Minuten später kommt endlich mal eine Krankenschwester, die Krankenschwester reagierte sehr pampig und wieder ganze 10 Minuten später kam sie dann endlich mal mit Wasser...

Dann sollte ich operiert werden, ging aber an dem tag nicht mehr, Samstag spätabend. Ich sollte also am nächsten Tag operiert werden(wäre ich Privatpatient gewesen...).

So, am nächsten Tag(Sonntag) hieß es dann ich müsse BIS MONTAG warten weil die OP Säle alle überlaufen seien! Wow! Ein weiterer Tag den ich mit starken Schmerzen rumliege! Ich sag ja wieder nur wäre ich Privatpatient gewesen wäre ich gleich operiert worden!

Dann kam endlich meine OP, typischer verlauf. Nächstes Problem: Ich habe EXPLIZIT darauf hingewiesen dass ich eine HISTAMIN-INTOLERANZ habe und daher keine Opiate nehmen darf, aber stattdessen wurde ich da als "opiat allergiker" geführt.... Was zur Folge hatte dass sie mir bei einem starken Schmerzsschub Diclofenac gegeben haben. Hallo? Diclo ist bekannt dafür den Histaminspiegel zu erhöhen -- No go für Menschen mit Histaminintoleranz!!!??? Habe ich auch erst im nachhinein erfahren. Kompetenz schonmal 0. Wenn man an "seltenen" Krankheiten oder Unverträglichkeiten leidet sollte man NICHT auf die Kompetenz der Ärzte dort vertrauen. Am besten ihr Googelt jedes Medikament auf eure eigenen Unverträglichkeiten selbst!

Medikamente für die Patienten liegen dort im Flur einfach in Keramikschällchen vor den Zimmern. Jeder Idiot könnte theorethisch sich Nachts einfach alle Medis einsacken. Auch wieder sehr unprofessionell.

Internet und fernsehen kostet dort 3€ am tag plus eine unverschämte Aktivierungsgebühr von satten 15€! Wer sich also nicht langweilen will muss dort tief in die Tasche greifen, eine Frechheit und Zumutung! Absoluter wucher für diesen veralteten Röhrenschirm!

Organisation ist ebenfalls 0 vorhanden, weder in ihrem eigenen Unfallabteil, noch sind sie bei dem Überlauf bei diesem frostigen Wetter mal auf den Gedanken gekommen die Patienten in andere, fast leere, Abteile der Charité umzuverteilen. Zuviel Aufwand bestimmt... Stattdessen werde ich auch noch viel zu früh nach bereits 10 tagen rausgeschmissen weil die offensichtlich mehr Betten für Privatpatienten gebraucht haben! Mein Hausarzt bei dem ich am übernächsten tag war als er das sah(mein Knie sah echt schlimm aus, einschliesslich riesiger blauer Flächen durch Ergüsse + Schwellung) sagte ebenfalls nur Kopfschüttelnd: "Schweine..." Mein Hausarzt hat auch darauf hingewiesen dass die naht sehr schlampig und unprofessionell vernäht wurde. "Viel zu fest gezogen, typischer Anfängerfehler, Anfänger haben oft Angst die Naht zu lasch zu nähen also ziehen sie sie lieber doppelt fest." Das hat auch unter anderem zu unnötigen Schmerzen und Verlangsamung der Heilung geführt! Vielen Dank auch dafür!

Bei der OP habe ich auch ca. die Hälfte meines Patellaknorpels verloren den sie wohl nicht mehr anbringen konnten. Ich glaube langsam auch dass das nur eine weitere Schlamperei ihrerseits war! Aber beweisen kann ich das leider nicht.

Fazit: Nur das essen war wirklich gut, das reicht aber nicht um die katastrophalen Mängel in anderen Bereichen...
