Haus am Kleistpark — Attraction in Berlin

Here there are a series of photographs taken by the talented self-taught photographer Loredana Nemes, ranging from the harmonious interplay of inorganic and organic landscape elements (trees, rocks, and snow) to the subtle and harmonious interplay of light and shadow, all the way to a series of intense and authentic portraits, as well as, in some cases, valuable poetic texts to accompany and complement them. A magnificent series of images that confirms the artist's talent and aesthetic sensibility, an excellent exhibition that is definitely worth seeing. The exhibition design is also excellent, with well-spaced, orderly photographs and carefully chosen lighting that never compromises visibility, but rather enhances it. On the day of my visit, I ran out of time to see the other exhibition offered by this excellent exhibition space, that of photographer Maria Sewcz. I plan to return to see it; it will certainly be as fascinating as all the exhibitions seen so far in this exhibition space. Congratulations to the curators of Haus am Kleistpark for the quality of the exhibitions they always manage...

I visited this building and its history goes way back at the beginning when there was a pharmacy then after redesigned in 1676 to the botanical garden with thousands of plants. In fact the house at Kleist Park, listed building today was from 1878 - 1880.Like so many buildings in the war in 1944 it was nearly destroyed by a bomb. Even now is missing an entire wing of the house. So this house has everything like old an eventful history. Here upstairs there is a gallery and the music school Schöreneberg archive.In the gallery primarily artists are shown in changing exhibitions that have contemporary photography. Großartige Ausstellungsräume. Leider Ausstellungen weit unter den Möglichkeiten. Häufig schwache Positionen von -ehemals- also sagen wir vor 20 Jahren- sehr guten Fotografen, die nun schwache, neue Arbeiten zeigen. Dann lieber die alten Positionen wie bei Judy Linn und dafür die neuen Arbeiten weglasssen. Das schwächt bloß das Gesamtbild, so auch in der aktuellen Ausstellung. Zu trivial. Es ist schade, wenn das Niveau in etwa einer Semesteraufgabe aus dem 2.Semester der Fotoschule entspricht. Geben Sie lieber häufiger jungen und/ oder unbekannten Fotografen und Künstler die Chance auszustellen, wenn man sieht das da noch "Herzblut" und eine starke Position drinsteckt. Das erkennt und fühlt sowohl der Laie als auch das Fachpublikum und Presse. Bildnerisch, Inhaltlich, Aufnahmetechnisch sowie Drucktechnisch wäre ein anspruchsvolles Niveau schön, welches dem Haus zu großem Namen verhelfen würde. Etwas mehr MUT!
