took away my mini self defense spray which i had with me because i am a woman in a foreign country who will be going home after the concert very late at night and when i asked if there is any way for them to keep it for me and give it back they said that i can leave it outside the arena and come back later and see if its still there. i also saw so many umbrellas and food (bags of chips etc.) outside the arena bc they didnt let people take it inside. inhumane considering for how many hours we had to wait and how ridicolously overpriced drinks (even for still water) were. the whole thing with drinks in cups and deposits is insane. while waiting for the concert people were sitting around in the pit and at one point during the concert i moved away from the pit to an area where there was nobody close to me to sit down for a few minutes because i literally could not stand anymore and a security guard came up to me and told me that i am bothering others and need to stand up, despite literally feeling like i would pass out, all the while he couldve told me there was a sitting area near the exit that i could rest in and go back into the hall. as well as nicki being late as usual, but i dont think they can do anything about it, but very unprofessional either way. the concert was good, but the overall...
Read moreI have been to the Lanxess Arena on several occasion and this place is a great accommodation for a variety of shows and concerts. This is due to the accesibility, comfort and central location in Europe.
I live in The Netherlands, so I only have tot drive around 1 hour to get there. It is not too tiring to reach Cologne and I can opt for a hotel in the city if needed.
The first event I visited in Cologne was ESL one Cologne (later IEM Cologne) and the atmosphere surrounding the arena, but also inside was electrifying. The seats were nice and had cup holders. It is also quite easy to re-enter the facility.
I also went to the Lanxess for a concert and this place was a great venue for a metal concert. I can only imagine that other types of concerts are as great as the one I witnessed.
Parking was a breeze for us. We did arrive way on time, but leaving the Lanxess was ok as well.
The only point of critique is the cost of refreshments. These are quite pricey.
All and all is the Lanxess Arena a great host to many wonderful events throughout the year. A wide range of organised spectacles take place around the year with the help of the fine accommodation provided...
Read moreJust standing in the middle of Lanxess Arena is like being inside a jet engine with a light show. It’s so loud, your bones start vibrating to the beat—pack earplugs unless you want your eardrums to file for early retirement.
The place is massive. Like, “I-need-a-compass-and-a-snack-break-to-find-my-seat” massive. Once inside, you’re surrounded by 20,000 strangers collectively forgetting how to behave like adults. It’s glorious.
Acoustics? Explosive. Vibes? Unhinged. Concessions? Deliciously questionable. I ate something that may have been a pretzel or a small pillow. Still unclear.
Security is fast, friendly, and 100% better than my last relationship. The lights will give you goosebumps, the crowd will give you whiplash, and the beer will give you financial regret—but all part of the experience.
If you’re looking for a calm, relaxing night out, go to a spa. If you want to scream your lungs out and feel your internal organs rearranged by bass drops, Lanxess Arena is your mecca.
Would recommend. Would also recommend bringing earplugs, a phone charger, and emotional readiness for whatever...
