Palladium — Attraction in Cologne

Today I had my Ava Max concert at this establishment and I would like to explain the various reasons why this was a disaster.

1. For starters, the first floor is flat and the upstairs has these columns that don't let you see anything.

2. When I tried to get into a space because there were people occupying two seats, they told me no and gave me dirty looks.

In the end I had to go to the top floor at the back right and well... this was the worst. There was a guy of 1.90 and quite strong who wanted to throw me out, he had threatened me several times and had even asked the security to kick me out (twice). I was not even touching this man and I could only see the concert through a small gap between the column and the fence with a black cloth. His excuse for trying to throw me out was that he had arrived 2 hours earlier and that I could not move the fence 5cm because I had not arrived earlier. When I managed to make room for me, there were people who stood in the middle to record the concert with a cell phone and a camera at the same time (it was an older man and I imagine he was the owner of the hall, as a person you leave much to be desired because you were blocking my little view on purpose, you had a LOT of free balcony.

Tip : If the artist you want to visit is in another room or even in another country, GO to that other place without hesitation.

-The old man(possible owner) : learn to make videos and be less annoying, you were just being annoying for no reason.

-To the bully in the balcony : I hope you like to know that I was able to see the concert without having been two hours before in the hall ;).

-To the security guy : you are a great guy and you are a very good person, don't change.

All this drama for the little gap I had and I can show in the picture, I won't come back to Köln after...

The Place is very nice, amazing sound and lighting effects, very good organisation….. But the Security Team, was sometimes very unfriendly - well not the team but a tall average man, that I believe should be the -manager team- at that day (Masego show )was yelling more than one time: outside a homeless guy (judging by his cloths) was collecting plastic bottles and this guy just screamed but so loud that we thought he had a problem with us instead. So unnecessary. And So a girl was recording a video with a small retro camera , and he was yelling her while the show was going on, and the other security took her out of the crowd( she just don’t realised that she was the one being pointed on). Like what is the matter if I can record the whole show in 4K quality with the last iPhone , which I was not the only one to have one there…. I just don’t get it. Bouncers have always another working brain inside their heads…...

Ich war gestern mit einer Freundin auf einem Konzert im Palladium. Leider muss ich sagen, dass unsere Erfahrung vor allem aufgrund der schlechten Luftsituation im Veranstaltungsraum sehr negativ war.

Zunächst einmal möchte ich die positiven Aspekte hervorheben:

Der Einlass verlief reibungslos, ohne lange Wartezeiten.

Das Personal, einschließlich der Security, war durchweg freundlich und professionell.

Auch die sanitären Anlagen waren sauber und in gutem Zustand.

Leider hat all das nicht darüber hinweggetäuscht, dass die Luftqualität im Saal eine absolute Katastrophe war. Wir standen relativ weit vorne, da wir frühzeitig vor Ort waren, und konnten den Beginn des Konzerts inklusive des Vorprogramms noch genießen. Doch mit der Zeit wurde es zunehmend unerträglich: Es war extrem heiß, stickig und schlichtweg keine ausreichende Belüftung vorhanden.

Obwohl wir uns dünn angezogen und etwas zu trinken dabei hatten, reichte das bei weitem nicht aus. Nach einer Weile fühlten meine Freundin und ich uns beide parallel zunehmend schlechter, bis wir den Raum verlassen mussten. Uns wurde schwindelig, unser Körper fühlte sich wie im Daueralarmmodus an, und wir hatten das Gefühl, jeden Moment umzukippen. Wir beobachteten auch andere Konzertbesucher, die ähnliche Probleme hatten und ebenfalls rausliefen, um frische Luft zu schnappen.

Im Sanitätsraum wurden wir zwar freundlich betreut, wofür wir dankbar sind, doch die grundsätzliche Frage bleibt: Wie kann es sein, dass in einer so großen Location wie dem Palladium keine ausreichende Belüftung vorhanden ist? Für die Ticketpreise erwartet man eine Umgebung, in der man ein Konzert genießen kann, ohne gesundheitliche Probleme zu bekommen.

Besonders enttäuschend ist, dass wir beide jung, sportlich und durchaus belastbar sind und normalerweise große Freude an Konzerten haben. Doch die Kombination aus Hitze, Sauerstoffmangel und der intensiven Lautstärke führte dazu, dass wir die Musik und die Atmosphäre gar nicht mehr genießen konnten. Es war einfach nur noch zu viel: zu heiß, zu stickig, zu eng, zu laut. Wir haben uns mit Mühe bis zum Ende des Konzerts durchgerungen, doch danach war unser einziges Ziel, nach Hause zu kommen und uns hinzulegen.

Zusammenfassend: Das Konzert hätte ein großartiges Erlebnis werden können, doch die unzureichende Belüftung hat alles überschattet. Für zukünftige Veranstaltungen sollte dringend in eine bessere Klimatisierung investiert werden, denn so, wie es gestern war, kann man das Palladium leider nicht...
