Ludwig Erhard Zentrum — Attraction in Fürth

Fascinating character. The museum is in two parts, (on either side of the road), and both are top quality exhibitions. The place is clean, staff were friendly and helpful. The exhibits all have full English interpretations. Technology is used very well throughout and was very factual. Obviously being a museum based mainly on one person, it could easily become either hero-worship or demonization, but it does very well to give the impression of a factual and constructive understanding of an important economist and politician that faced similar hurdles that politics encounter today. I was disappointed that I didn't see Ludwig's book 'Wohlstand für alle' in the museum shop. It would be a great seller in both German and English. I know because I wanted to read it after visiting, thankful I could download a free ebook version easily off the interwebs after a quick search.

Ludwig Erhard Zentrum is located in central Fuerth, This museum is about a men: Ludwig Erhard born in Fuerth, who was German Chancellor. The goal of the museum aims on transmitting the life and the work of Erhard and the voluntary sector of market to a wide public and at uniting the political, historic and economic education. Tolle und sehr aufschlussreiche Ausstellung, die anhand Erhards Biografie freilich die wesentlichen politischen Entwicklungen der Nachkriegszeit in der BRD nachzeichnet, ohne dabei zu ignorieren, welche Wege in der DDR beschritten wurden und in welchem weltpolitischen Kontext diese Entwicklungen zustande kamen. Besonders spannend fand ich jedoch Erhards Werdegang während der Weimarer Republik und des NS-Regimes, weil ich darüber bis dato gar nichts wusste. Die Ausstellung ist sehr modern, mit viel digitalem Medieneinsatz, aber genauso auch noch viel mehr faszinierenden und kreativ in Szene gesetzten Originalexponaten: Alltagsgegenstände, Korrespondenzen, Fotos, Illustrationen... und ja: Da steht wirklich ein Willis MB in der Ausstellung und erweckt den Eindruck, als würden jeden Moment die US-GIs einsteigen. Abgerundet wird das alles durch hin und wieder eingeflochtene Anekdoten, die zum Schmunzeln anregen und auch interaktive Elemente, bei denen mal der/die Besucher im Mittelpunkt steht/stehen.
