[see update from 23.05.2021 below] Diverse, nice and cozy. We love to visit this place all year around, as there is always something to see. There is a cafe open during summer time where one can get some coffee and cake, and enjoy peaceful atmosphere of the place.
UPD from 23.05.2021: during corona times this place became an unassailable fortress. Today I've booked an entry slot from 18 to 19 for me, my wife and 2 kids. On the platform there were plenty of open slots left. We came 18:59 to the gates (this can happen with the kids), which were already closed and the guards didn't let us in. They told me that it's already 19 and my booking means that we can be in the garden from 18 to 19 only since it's a weekend and they have a lot of visitors. That was a straight lie. On our way back home we went around the garden and guess what?! - we haven't seen a single person! Apparently the guards have started to send everyone away an hour earlier. The whole situation is outrageous and sad, because we love the garden and appreciate (also with occasional donations) all the work being done on the premises. My updated rating from 5 to 1 star goes exclusively to the guards working there at the above mentioned date and time. Hopefully the administration of the garden will take care of the situation and make it possible for people to enjoy and support the...
Read moreIf you are in Hamburg specially in spring or summer, don’t miss this free botanical garden. It is amazing. In summer and spring times, this place is a mini heaven for people who love nature and plants. Wild variety of flowers, trees and plant species with informative boards. You can spend a full day here so also bring some snacks and water bottle. Also pack some extra tissues and insects anti repellent cream or spray which is not harmful as lots of beautiful bugs are around. The cute bees fly by and enjoy their buffet 😍😍😍
For improvements: I ve seen toilet only at entrance and the toilet paper was finished in it. So maybe 2-3 more toilet spots is suggested with baby stations. I saw one more toilet sign but couldn’t find it. Maybe a clearer indication will help many.
Highly appreciate the positive take on my suggestion by the park management. Keep up the good work...
