[see update from 23.05.2021 below] Diverse, nice and cozy. We love to visit this place all year around, as there is always something to see. There is a cafe open during summer time where one can get some coffee and cake, and enjoy peaceful atmosphere of the place.

UPD from 23.05.2021: during corona times this place became an unassailable fortress. Today I've booked an entry slot from 18 to 19 for me, my wife and 2 kids. On the platform there were plenty of open slots left. We came 18:59 to the gates (this can happen with the kids), which were already closed and the guards didn't let us in. They told me that it's already 19 and my booking means that we can be in the garden from 18 to 19 only since it's a weekend and they have a lot of visitors. That was a straight lie. On our way back home we went around the garden and guess what?! - we haven't seen a single person! Apparently the guards have started to send everyone away an hour earlier. The whole situation is outrageous and sad, because we love the garden and appreciate (also with occasional donations) all the work being done on the premises. My updated rating from 5 to 1 star goes exclusively to the guards working there at the above mentioned date and time. Hopefully the administration of the garden will take care of the situation and make it possible for people to enjoy and support the...

If you are in Hamburg specially in spring or summer, don’t miss this free botanical garden. It is amazing. In summer and spring times, this place is a mini heaven for people who love nature and plants. Wild variety of flowers, trees and plant species with informative boards. You can spend a full day here so also bring some snacks and water bottle. Also pack some extra tissues and insects anti repellent cream or spray which is not harmful as lots of beautiful bugs are around. The cute bees fly by and enjoy their buffet 😍😍😍

For improvements: I ve seen toilet only at entrance and the toilet paper was finished in it. So maybe 2-3 more toilet spots is suggested with baby stations. I saw one more toilet sign but couldn’t find it. Maybe a clearer indication will help many.

Highly appreciate the positive take on my suggestion by the park management. Keep up the good work...

One of the best places to visit in Hamburg. You can get on the S Bahn from the central station and get here in a matter 30 mins. Moreover they have their own free parking spots, but it can get full during weekends.

The park is just amazing, filled with diverse types of flowers, plants, trees, rocks and endless greenery and beauty. The wow effect can only be understood, once it has been visiter. If you like greeenery, nature, photography and the outdoors then this spot should be the #1 spot on your to do/ visit list in Hamburg. The park is also free, clean and attracts thousands of people per year.

There are public toilets, a research facility from the Uni hamburg and a restaurant as well. Enjoy ur visit and let us know about...

I had an incredible experience here, even though it's only April and not all the flowers are bloomed, the garten looks stunning. They're a lot of scenic spots to photograph or to rest, close to water ponds or hidden under the trees, some of the areas are even better than Planten und Blomen Park. The garden it's easy accessible with S1 Bahn or buses and it's not very crowded. I would have liked to visit the greenhouses, but they are only used to grow and cultivate other plants there. Also there is some noticeable noise from the taking off planes which sometimes can disturb your quietness. Highly recommended especially on a sunny day.
