Das Museum beschreibt auf eine beeindruckende Weise die Geschichte der Stadt Lüdenscheid. Leider ist die Präsentationstechnik mittlerweile in die Jahre gekommen und genügt somit nicht mehr dem aktuellen Zeitgeist. Dennoch gab es viel zu sehen. Die Schmalspurbahn war ein Erlebnis für die Kinder. Die Kunstgalerie zeigt Gemälde und Installationen bekannter Künstler. Leider war ein großer Teil des Museums wegen Umbaumaßnahmen gesperrt.
