The reply below to this review is an example of a managerial non-answer. What are you going to do about your staff? I'm still waiting for a reply to my formal complaint.
Today was my first day using the Body and Soul fitness studio at Theresienhoehe. It will be my last. I used the pool.
This is my experience:
The rules of use of the pool follow a normal etiquette, namely: the faster swimmers swim in the left hand lane, and normal swimmers swim in the right lane. The reality is that few people follow the rules, and no-one on staff checks either. Consequently, when the fast lane is full, then the overflow comes into the normal lane, making it impossible for slower swimmers to enjoy their time in the pool. In fact, it becomes a bullying experience for normal swimmers as the faster swimmers do what they like.
My experience today was that a man who had come into the pool from the fast lane hit me twice as he swam by. When I called him to ask him to be careful, he ignored me. He did it again on his way back down.
When I went to the reception desk to ask for confirmation the experience became worse.about The staff treated me with contempt and rudeness. First, a younger woman working there used the informal form of address to me. I am about 30 years their senior. When I asked her to use the polite form, she laughed in my face.
Secondly, I explained to her what happened. She told me it was up to me to work it out with the man who hit me and then ignored me. When I explained that I had done this, she repeated the same line: you work it out with him. When she became fed up with me her parting remark to me was a disparaging 'send an email' and she turned her back. I perceived this as she believed that when or if I sent an email to management, then nothing would come of it.
Finally, I asked her male colleague to see the manager. He told me that there was no-one on site. Then, he asked me what wrong and I told him. He gave me the same spiel again. Eventually, I asked him was he joking, he said he was not.
I am sure that if I was a man, then that man in the pool would have thought twice about ploughing into me. The reality is he felt he could act with impunity.
This has been an awful experience. Think twice and three times before using...
Read moreBeware, you could book sessions and not even get to use them. This gym seems to be managed by staff who don’t respect the rules of the gym nor customer rights. 2 of us had registered for the power plate machines and were on the confirmed Namelist in the Gym’s computer system, but were told we couldn’t use the machines on our booked timeslot, while 2 other women whose names were not registered were allowed to use it instead. I asked the girl in charge to check the names, which showed exactly who was registered and who wasn’t. She did it reluctantly, and saw that 2 of the users were not registered, but gave them priority anyway, over us users who ACTUALLY were on the confirmed list. I told her it wasn’t right to let unregistered users use the timeslots instead of registered users. She rudely responded “what is it you want from me?” and said I could complain if I wanted. I talked to the manager Katharina, who said “it could be a technical error”, when it was obvious the unregistered users lied about their booking (they couldn’t prove their identity nor registration with an email confirmation). Instead of asking the 2 unregistered women to respect the booking rules, she told us to wait till the 30 minutes were over to use it (I had an appointment later already, and went to this gym specifically at the booked timeslot for the machines). She said “there was nothing she could do”.
As supervising staff the very thing she should do was to ensure registered users get to use their booked and paid services, while unregistered ones do not. Simple as that. Why do you expect people to register and make up rules if no one respects them, not even staff?
This took place on Tuesday evening 27th June. The following afternoon I went back for another training, and asked the reception if there was any complaints handling system, she said it doesn’t exist because “everything works”. The number of dissatisfied reviews here will tell you otherwise. Another show of how poorly trained the staff are for any service.
If you’re desperate for a sub-standard gym you can sign up for this one. But don’t expect your rights nor well-being to be looked after, that’s the least of their concern after they...
Read moreActually, I think the studio is great, but now in January it's a really bad idea to let guests in large numbers into the club. I am also sorry for the urban sports club members but what can I say as a member. At least the cleaning staff should be increased. The locker room and the showers in the men's area are really unclean. Many devices do not work technically with the RFID bands. The left treadmill in the entrance area has been broken for months. The staff is visibly overwhelmed. Every fitness area of hotels in Asia are better organized. Water, towels, staff and cleanliness. Maybe the management of b+s should do some training there. The member service responds to questions and criticism according to their own statement "The processing time can be up to 10 working days depending on the request - but usually you get an answer from us faster". If it is not yet known we are no longer in the 20th century. The answers are standard and always the request for understanding. But beware if you ask unpleasant questions, there is at the end of the termination without notice on the part of b + s (see on Facebook the published letter of termination of a customer). I have understanding for everything but not for an incompetent management and the reference of the staff in the studio to the incompetent member service. Then you can also save this and invest the money in hygiene and maintenance of the studio. The philosophy of the company is according to its own statement "body + soul offers fitness, wellness and lifestyle at the highest level":"
Where is the highest level in comparison to the price. The current level is more like a mid-range fitness studio, but I only pay a small monthly fee and know from the beginning what I get for it. Therefore, you should consider very well whether it is worthwhile for you to join a...
