I was scheduled to stay at Hotel Senator München in February 2020. I was initially drawn to the hotel because its online description states that it has non-smoking rooms, and the pictures the hotel has posted online portray it as a well maintained hotel that (per the hotel's own description) "offer(s) elegant rooms". The reality is nothing close to that. We arrived to the hotel after a long day of traveling only to find the smell of cigarette smoke greet us within seconds of walking through the door. I had some initial concern because the guest I was traveling with has asthma, but I brushed it off thinking maybe someone had smoked outside near the door recently. After getting the keys to our room and heading upstairs we became more concerned as the overall conditions in the hotel didn't seem to match the photos that had been posted online. We also came to realize that the scent in the lobby wasn't a fluke. The entire hotel, including our room, had an odor of cigarettes. We tried opening the balcony door only to find that to be ineffective since there was a clear smell of cigarettes outside, likely from guests smoking on their balconies. We then tried to figure out what to do next. We ultimately went downstairs to speak with the man at the front desk and expressed our concerns with the room, especially given the health risk it posed to my fellow traveller. We were directed to speak with someone over the phone who insisted that we pay for a night's stay at the hotel even though we had not used or dirtied anything in the room. I don't think this is either fair or acceptable given the circumstances. Not only did the services offered to us (ie non-smoking rooms) not match what was advertised, but we didn't utilize those services because we left the hotel and didn't stay for a single night. Save yourself the kind of headache we've had to go through, and do not stay at...

Read moreThis is the absolute worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in. |Let’s start with probably one of the rudest person (Bettina) we’ve ever encountered. She was the person working the reception desk. I understand German people can be a little short but she was actually screaming at us. We had a fuse go out in our room and she absolutely lost her mind yelling at me about it. Never have we been treated that way and we have traveled extensively. We talked to some other folks (we were there with a group) and the group leader (a local) said he thought she only talked to them like that. |The room was disgusting. If it was cleaned, you surely couldn’t tell. It had black mold on the bathroom wall. Dust bunnies and hair on the floor. The beds sunk in the middle and the WiFi was non existent. |The only good things abut this hotel were the location (to Oktoberfest) and the...
