We hit Theresienwiese for the first day of Spring Festival—parade was great, outfits were fantastic, spirits were high
until we tried getting into a beer tent. Three hours in line only to be told no entry. Unless you’ve got a reservation, don’t even bother. Save yourself the heartbreak—there are plenty of awesome beer spots outside the tents with way less hassle.

Watching everyone parade around in lederhosen and dirndls is a treat on its own, but the real show came at the end. As we were leaving, I had to leap over a puddle of fresh, glistening vomit. Not just any vomit—this was no ordinary brew-fueled blowout. It featured long, fully intact strands of what appeared to be unchewed pasta.

And now I can’t stop thinking about it. Was it an Italian tourist unprepared for German beer? A German unfamiliar with how to eat spaghetti? A symbolic fusion of culinary confusion and festival overindulgence? I may never know. But I’ll never forget.

Worth going for the people-watching. Just pack patience

Now this is Oktoberfest! Arrived at the main event in Munich end of Sep 2023. Theresienwiese. It opens at 11am and goes to 11pm.... only large beers đŸșđŸ» available đŸ˜†đŸ€Ł. And the breweries that are in the south of Munich are allowed to supply beer to Oktoberfest. The breweries make a special brew for this event, which is higher alcohol content.... it's 2 pm and there are a lot of happy people here. Lol. It's AWESOME!! Easy to get to via the public transit. ...

Here’s a little recap of our Wiesn trip on the family day last Tuesday đŸ€© If you’re going with kids who can go on the rides then the family day is definitely for you! Because quite a lot of the rides and even food stalls have reduced prices specifically for families on Tuesday’s. And we all know how quickly it can add up 🙈 so family day’s are a great initiative! Some important points to keep in mind when going with kids to the Oktoberfest: 1. Remember to get the child safety bracelet at the entrance (this is to write down your information incase you lose track of your child) 2. Apart from Saturday and Oct 3rd, strollers are allowed on the grounds but only before 18:00. If you’re entering exactly as 18:00, you won’t be allowed in and asked to park your stroller in their parking area 3. The family day discounts on Tuesday’s are only valid till 19:00 - as soon as the clock strikes 19:00, stalls will remove their discount cards. We saw it happening right infront of us 😅 so keep that in mind! Also, if you’ve played this ‘hit the target’ game, did you succeed in putting a frog in? Because we always got so close but never succeeded and need to know if it’s actually doable 👀 I have another post about important Wiesn info for families so feel free to check that out :) Have you already been to the Wiesn this year? | Oktoberfest with kids 2025 | Wiesn Tipp | Wiesn mit Kind | #munichkids #oktoberfestmĂŒnchen #thingstodomunich #oktoberfestwithkids #wiesn2025
