Fun beginners wave, although the entrance/access is rather on an intermediate level. Details: Access: You have to climb out of the water on to a ledge, where in high season you also have to stand in line and move forward to the wave itself. Once it's your turn, you have to run a couple of steps towards the end of the ledge, throw in your board and jump after it - similar to a running start on a skateboard. Another way to enter the wave is to jump in the Eisbach at point further upstream and let yourself float into the wave and then paddle. Surfers will look out for the occasional paddle entry and give you the space. Wave: The wave itself is quite small and doesn't have a lot of power. Therefore the board of choice should bring a bit of volume and length - most people opt for a softboard and sometimes for a hardboard with decent size. Exit: Once you did your turn you either float back to the lineup and climb on the ledge or once you're done you exit on the opposite side and have to climb the ledge there. You can also float a bit down stream, where the water is calmer and the exit is easier.
Although it's not as famous as the E1 wave at Eisbachbrücke, you will still have a couple of spectators during the day. In Summer it can get a little crowded, both due to more surfers and also people floating in the Eisbach and through the wave. There is a line a couple of meters in front of the wave where people will hold on to and once you give them a sign they will pass...
Read moreA really cool place to stop by, even if you aren’t a surfer yourself. I’ve never seen something similar in a park before and watching all the brave surfer hitting the waves 🌊🏄 really made me smile 😊 To my surprise, it was frequently used by surfers. I passed a few times during my stay in Munich and I did see at least one surfer each time, from early morning to late afternoon 😃👍 (did never pass during...
An einigen Stellen ragt Wurzelwerk ins Wasser.
