Summary: Wonderful activity, incredible views, worth the price, highly recommended

Details: 🅿️The drive up to this location is beautiful, and the car park is large so there is plenty of space for many. Parking was €2 for an hour, and €5 for anything over. It’s possible to do it in an hour should the queues be short, but why rush just for a €3 saving! 🚾There are toilets at the entrance to the alpine coaster’s ticketing station that are well kept. ✅ The tickets are €15.50 for the coaster and the chairlift- the walk is NOT SHORT if you decide to climb up to the top! It would take hours to reach the top and the hike wasn’t well kept- it was overgrown in places. Highly recommend getting the chairlift! 🚠 the ride on the ski lift/chairlift was absolutely beautiful. So relaxing, a really chilled pace and the views behind you are outstanding. ⚠️ The people running the ski lift didn’t tell us to put the bar down above us and to keep our feet on it in order to keep it down, so remember to do this as there’s nothing stopping you from falling otherwise. The height of the ski lift gets quite intense toward the top, so be careful. The journey on the ski lift was about 20-25 minutes. 🌳 when you get to the top, you hop off the chair quickly and exit to the left. The ski lift doesn’t stop, so you have to disembark fast. You then walk to the right and join the queue for the alpine coaster. It was around a 15 minute wait to get seated in a cart. There are instructions in many languages, including English. Just belt up and tuck everything in- no bags are allowed and must be sent down on the chair lift. 🏎️ The journey down is excellent. You can go at your own pace, but they recommend leaving 25m between you and the car in front. Unfortunately, somebody in front went SO slowly and it slightly ruined the experience as I wanted it to be a thrilling, fast paced experience. You can go slowly though, especially to satisfy scared children! 📸there is a camera close to the end after a steep decline and you have the option of buying the picture at the end.

A must and your kids will love you for this one and never forget it! Ok, after a spending a few hours in scenic bliss, we thought on the way back to our hotel in Fussen we’d take a 20 minute or so detour to go on the Alpine Coaster after spotting it on Google maps and reading the reviews. Now me and the wife are 56 and 54 respectively and have been on these, or similar things before. So I have to say my wife is scared of heights and anything considered an adrenaline rush and she was petrified. First the chair lift to the top which is about 20-25 minutes of a lovey peaceful journey and not too high. Then you get off the chair lift and walk round to join the queue for the ride back down. It was at this point that my wife decided she couldn’t do it on her own but thankfully you can ride together (we aren’t small so no size limit here)! Ignoring the fact my wife had her eyes shut 90% of the time, this is fantastic, well worth €29 for us both to go up on the chair lift and then ride down (either on your own or both together). I would add that on your way into the car park you press for a parking ticket, then when your done riding go to a payment booth (half way up the car park by some toilets) pay for your ticket to be able to get out of the car park. There are 2 or 3 lots of toilets, a place to get a drink etc, but as for rides of this type this is so good, really long ride, and you’ll please the kids taking them here, it’s just brilliant for the kids and adults, so don’t be tight, go and enjoy yourselves it’s brilliant-...

So fun! If you are within an hour of the area, definitely stop by for this. If you can get there at opening time, even better. We purchased 2x up the lift and down the coaster, I think total around 84€ for 4 people. A little pricey but a ton of fun! The ride up is beautiful. Our first trip down there was no one in front of us so we could go as fast as we were brave enough to go. For our second ride, we decided to linger at the top and enjoy some Austrian cuisine. That was a mistake because the line built up and for our second ride down we waited about 20 minutes. The people in front of us were a school group and these girls were terrified to go more than a snails pace and ruined it for everyone behind them. The operator kept yelling down at them to go. It gave you time though to appreciate the incredible scenic views around you, though.

One thing I did not enjoy, the waiter at the restaurant was nice, however, after our meal was through, he asked how we enjoyed our Austrian cuisine. Not wanting to be rude I said it was wonderful (even though it could have been better) and he replied with ‘much better than your American food. Americans have the worst food culture.’ It ended up being a good lesson for my children about how what you say can be rude or offensive to other cultures, but being from the American service industry, I would kindly suggest sticking to positive feedback. We know we don’t have to leave tips, but we will if we find...
