Hafner Stuben — Restaurant in Oberammergau

I've been using Google Maps for 20 years, & this is the first time I'm leaving a bad review on a restaurant that I've physically dined from. My experience was that bad. There was a huge clump of contamination in my drink, so I told the waiter about it. I don't think I got a real apology, he just brought the tainted drink back to the bar. I refused to get a replacement since I already lost my appetite to do anything with this restaurant. Also, left the food that I was going to take back home because I'm now worried it's also contaminated.

I don't know if it's psychological, but I started feeling bad when I got home. Not only did I not get a genuine apology, they also still charged me for the food even if I had a bad experience and potentially got sick from their drink. Is this how they do customer service in this area? Y'all...

After a rocky start—we were greeted with a less-than-welcoming reception and shuffled around various parts of the restaurant before we finally secured a table—our experience at Hafner Stuben quickly transformed into a delightful dining event. A friendly waitress and an extensive menu of traditional Bavarian cuisine, served with an innovative twist, marked the beginning of a nice meal.

Each dish, from the creatively presented sausage salad to the trio of savory knödels and the exceptionally crispy pork knuckle, was a pleasant surprise. Gorgeous, clean restaurant with friendly staff. I loved seeing 3 leashed dogs accompany their human companions while we ate! The American fare portion of the menu starts at 6pm so I tried the cheeseburger - it claimed to have fresh beef but I can taste a frozen, flat patty any day and that's what it was. It also says it comes with onion rings and fries but I only got fries, but they were delicious and a generous portion. The bun was massive, loaded with salad but only one piece of limp bacon. Meh. My husband loved the pork knuckle and said it was the best he's had in Germany! Overall I think it was a good choice so I'm giving...
