It is rare for me to give a 5 star rating.
Good things:
-Amazing thermal spa treatments, there is a daily list of therapies to follow every half hour. They are all included in the initial fee for getting in (25 euro for 4 hours, slightly more for the full day). We thought 4 hours would be too much however it turned out time flew quicker than expected and would have been better taking the daily ticket instead -all therapies are different and offer their own experience, utilizing different methods and scents. All you have to do is follow the schedule to the dedicated room. There are several areas to the spa, it'll take you a long time to discover and understand it all (that's why it's much better to get a daily ticket) -There is a restaurant on the inside -a bar to drink from inside the pool (alcoholic and non) on stools inside the water -A cafeteria with a large variety of cakes to choose from -All decorations within the spa are incredible, starting from some of the columns covered with crystals, others made of pink, white marble. Chandeliers of fine glass work with beautiful blue colored gems, fantastic work on the staircase leading to the topper floors made of thick veiny marble. Beautiful paintings around, I was studying some for sometime. Innovative ideas for therapies in the saunas, using crystals of eucalyptus and menthol directly on the hot stones, freeing up your upper respiratory system. Salt scrubs and mud baths. Pools are available outside too and they are warm so you can relax and bathe even during the winter while snow is falling atop your head. All sauna rooms and Turkish baths are kept tidy, sanitized and clean, with beautiful decorations on the inside (they are named after the king Ludwig II and other important personalities of the time, so you'll find portraits of Cavaliers and coat of arms). -Customer service is excellent, smiling at all times and dressed impeccably -Such views from every spot that will take your breath away, there is a "panorama sauna" that offers enough space for up to 30 people if not more and a panorama over the Alps and the Neuschwanstein castle. -On the upper level you'll find another restaurant and on the terrace you'll find seating within glass vaults to enjoy the view even during super cold periods (and you're naked in there so how awesome is that?)
Bad and So so things:
-Upper levels are dedicated to naked people, for the ones that have problems with that and have a different mentality you'll be losing around 70% worth of your ticket fee. The best is located at the top of the complex so overcome your fears and just go. -DO CARRY YOUR TOWEL if you don't have one you'll have to borrow one from the spa and it's 3 euros per towel and a deposit of 10 euros per towel. Plan ahead of time to avoid this. -It's a very family oriented place so you'll find many kids playing around at the first level mainly. This might be annoying at some times for someone.
Conclusion:
This place is fantastic. I'd recommend it over and over again. The price per day is a bargain and you'll benefit a rejuvenation with a great...
Read moreA little bit dated but incredibly spacious spa with a huge selection of saunas and pools. The general direction of the spa is rather for adults. Besides the saunas the view of the castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau is remarkable! You can easily spend a whole day relaxing here. On the top floor is the textile free spa section with saunas and lots of space to relax inside and outside. Additionally to the saunas are also two pools, again with views over to the castles. A restaurant on each floor with a decent selection makes sure that you don`t have to bring provisions. Another highlight is the crystal room which provides you with a very relaxing environment, music and videos. On the rooftop are numerous sunbathing opportunities, even two large bubbles for about 6 persons where you can enjoy a meal protected from rain and wind. Afer each infusion sauna, which is every half hour from 09:45am till late around 10pm a little treat is served like drinks, honey, ice cream. Some include peelings (salt orange peeling) or oil treatments to support the spa treatment. Overall a full package that keeps you entertained and you’ll definitely feel relaxed and...
Read moreWhile kept in a good shape with every detail looking beautiful, the overall feel didn't make me overly comfortable. The nude section is barely separated from the rest of the place and in some areas quite exposed to the surroundings. The bistro is in the middle of the nude section which constricts moving freely around the place (you are supposed to be dressed in that area). Also, walking around feels like navigating a maze, which feels unpleasant to me. There is a terrace with chairs but there is almost no green on the terrace and the chairs are oriented away from the main scenery so that you miss the view. Also the chairs are not suited for tall people. Some corners of the place are very beautiful (nothing similar comes to my mind) and I enjoyed the silent room with the crystal decoration. I think, however, it is unlikely that I...
