Wildfreigehege Weißhauswald — Attraction in Trier

A "must-do" for tourists and the citizen from Trier ♥ High above the city is the Weißhauswald forest. Free entrance. A very nice short walk between cages of animals, most of them you can feed with the food boxes they are selling on the spot (make sure to have 1€ or 50ct coins). The only downfall is that they don't collect the carton boxes after using - ours was in perfect condition and could be refilled, but while asking they just told us to throw it away in the garbage can, which was full of used boxes. It’s free to enter, and you can even bring along a small picnic if you like. There are vending machines where you can buy food to feed the animals, and the animals themselves are very friendly and calm. I’d recommend wearing comfortable shoes.
