A unique feature is the natural grey clay along the cliffs, which some people apply to their skin like a spa treatment. It’s said to be rich in minerals—just apply, let it dry for 10–15 minutes, then rinse off (as long as you’re not allergic). The clay makes the water less clear than at other beaches, and the shoreline can get slippery.

In fact, the two beaches are neighbors and share the same distinctive sand, but Megas Lakkos offers a much more peaceful and spacious setting.
After visiting numerous beaches—many stunning but covered in pebbles—our feet were grateful for the soft sand and the gentle, gradual entrance into the sea. The water was incredibly calm, perfect for swimming and relaxing, and the view from above revealed a breathtaking mix of turquoise and copper tones.
The beach is equipped with sunbeds and a modest beach bar, where you’ll find everything you need for a comfortable stay — from cold drinks and snacks to a refreshing cocktail to enjoy by the sea.
