Toroni Beach — Attraction in Macedonia and Thrace

I've been here 10 years ago and it was a hidden gem! The whole village, the people, everything!

Unfortunately now it's something else...

I drove here to revisit it (in 2024) and I was disappointed. With all the modernization, all its greek flair...greek feeling. There are beach bars one after another and the experience was...meh...

At the first beach bar (the one we loved 10 years ago and was one of the very few) I wanted to ask about the prices for the beach beds and they just slammed me with "no English", not sure how to communicate with them if "no English".

We moved to another. The owner told us the prices, which were fair but then he directly told us no food or drinks from outside are allowed (which is ok I guess, it's like this almost everywhere so yeah...) and also if we leave to eat for example we have to take our stuff, can't hold the beach beds occupied. When we come back we'll have to pay again. This was weird as everywhere we went we paid for the whole day and it was permitted to go away, eat lunch for example and return.

The beach was nice though and clean. The water was getting deep rather quickly, let's say 2-3 meters from the shore and the water was until your neck. Not suited for children and people who can't swim I guess...

Anyway, we left Toroni without staying anywhere as we felt it was not what...

Since I started to share impressions due to my opinion about some nice loications in Sithonia Greece for sure I cannot miss Tororni Village. Toroni is small tourist village where i went for the firt time the last year ( due to my job obligations). Its around 2 hours driving away from Thessaloniki and regardless the fact that some part of the road makes you tired the route is very beautiful - we pass other villages, forest areas and we can enjoy the sea almsot during the entire jorney. Toroni is prefered tourist destionation for people who like the silence and the calmness. The local shops/ bars are not the best onces and they really need to be updated. But there is something very important - the cristal clear sea water and the amazing beach area in Toroni. Not to many people, small restaurants, few decent accommodation facilities + few brand new nice hotels which , will be operating in from 2021, fresh sea food , relaxing enviropment... I reccomend Toroni for family vacation in...

At the hotel there is a restaurant with traditional Greek kitchen, a spa room, a Swedish and Turkish sauna, a massage room, free WiFi internet in the lobby and a gym. There is plenty of private parking, pool, pool bar and super market.

The Hotel is the perfect destination for those who wish to see Ancient Toroni and to organize a trip to Mount Athos and Meteora and also, to organize fishing at Toroneos gulf.

All rooms are designed to have a view to the pool and sea and are located on the seafront and they offer daily maid service (only four rooms overlook the garden).

The 45 rooms in the new wing (Superior, Family, Standard, Suite) are fully equipped with air condition, mini bar, refrigerator and satellite television. All of them overlook the pool and the sea and have modern furniture.
