Good, tranquil, cool cave with friendly guy to hand out a flyer with information about the cave if you want it. The cave has a large history and it's worth reading the pamphlet before making a walk around.
Go for the small loop or bigger round the edge, though it's very slippery and not really a path as such to follow. Option to make a donation and burn a candle if you so feel like it.
You can more easily get to the cave if you drive a little further and park opposite the restaurant on the corner. There's a few stairs and then track going slightly uphill to the cave, you exit this track to do the last bit of stairs (the same stairs starting from the road). There is an amazing little chapel inside and I spent hours here. You must drive up the mountain to the entrance. You will park on the side of the road and walk up a good amount of stairs (maybe 200?). My thighs were burning a little but it was very manageable. You can take rests if you need to. It’s around 300 steps up the side of Trapeza mountain to see the Cave of Agia Sofia, which has a Chapel inside called the Wisdom of God.
