I haven't seen this place appear on any list of things to do in Chania and got a recommendation from a local to go there on the way to Elafonissi.
Basically it is a natural pool created by the rocks around that traps the sea water so they are completely flat and calm compared to the strong waved outside.
We arrived at Friday at noon and it was almost empty with only a few people swimming.
Getting there is not hard but you need to run right from the main road to a little road that seems like someone's parking...

Parking is free and almost empty, but that is probably because you almost don't have any space where you can lay a towel and catch some sun for a while. Water was clear and not dirty in any sense. I think weather dictates the experience, blue skies- blue pool.
