Kosmos Fish Tavern — Restaurant in Municipality of Kissamos

Fantastic experience. Warm welcome, speedy and nice service. Our waiter took us inside the building to show the available fresh fish for the day. There were 10 different species of fish alone, plus squid and the local lobster of course. We got so many info about the fish, how and where they source them, how they are caught and prepared. We went for a lionfish, scorpionfish (the waiter suggested to take two smaller fish for the same price as one bigger so we are introduced to more flavours. And of course a cretan lobster, the star of the show. It was 750gr but had so much meat, and also lots of eggs, it was incredible. Ordered tomato fritters and aubergine dip. Both were amazing, the latter was simply out of this world. Raki and sorbet at the end for free of course. We would return any time and highly recommend the place. So happy we stopped at this place on the way to Elafonisi beach. It’s right in the road so no deviation. The food and service are top notch and they most definitely deserve the near 5 star consensus.

For appetizers we had the garlic bread and hands down the best garlic bread I’ve ever had. It’s not a slice of a loaf or baguette, it’s more like fried pizza dough, which may sound strange but it made it so much better. We also had the local sausage which was delicious and did not disappoint.

The fresh mixed fish and fresh snapper where delicious!!! The mixed fish are fried and the small fish are so crunchy and delicious. You get to pick you’re own fish, and the snappers all looked fresh. The pork suvlaki was grilled to perfection and it was delicious.

We were going to eat in the Balcony room restaurant, but it said on the door that we should have dinner at Kosmos. Because it's closed. We came here to watch the sunset from the terrace. After ordering the meal, I ask for a water wearing glass to remove the food sign to be able to see the view. He' s got angry and responded rudely manner. I could hear him chating with other customers using bad English words loudly for fun. It' s out of my standards and disturbing. I was also disappointed that there was no fresh orange juice. He said it was out of season. We have got everywhere but not here. The lamb and shrimp was delicious. Fortunately the other water was professional that was the only reason we did not left immediately. Sure won't...
