Read moreThis a great place to eat either on your way or coming from Elafonisi. I recommend coming here after 5:00 pm, provided that you make a reservation and have a table with a view, which is quite nice at the sunset.
Staff is excellent and service is quick and efficient.
The food was tasty, their mussels cooked with ouzo is a highlight. Their green salad was of generous amount, fresh and topped with decent amounts of cheese and dressing.
Their caramelized octopus was a pleasant surprise. Good flavor and cooked properly, along with a fava puree with good texture and earthy flavors.
Last but not least is their squid, properly cooked and dressed with a nice parsley sauce. The potatoes on the side where quite good, well seasoned and soft. The side salad, I think the dressing of it was a bit too acid, overpowering the avocado and carrots but overall a pretty good dish.
Having a glass of their local wine is recommended.
All dishes were nicely plated. Between Elafonisi and Vathi, this place is a must when it...
Read moreThis place is a jewel! I will begin by saying that people working there are super nice and willing to explain you everything about every single item on the menu. Besides the people being spontaneous and genuine (thank you Nikos!) let's get to the point. Venue: the place is cute and there is a patio within an enclosed 'veranda' where you can enjoy the meal gazing at the seescape. Food: I was astonished by the quality of the food. All the ingredients are local, masterfully mixed and skillfully cooked. The lamb knuckles cooked in honey and orange served with spelt and baked potatoes on the side left me speechless. They also offer a nice selection of outstanding starters (e.g. rocket salad with figs and sheep salami). Beverage: wine and raki (pomace Brandy) were delicious, again well above the norm in terms of quality. Pricing: The pricing is really honest and you get away with possibly the best meal you have ever had for a little over what you would spend for a Pizza and a beer in central Europe. Simply...
