The promenade is unique for Greece. Its hard to find a long and walkable promenade to have a walk with your child, pet etc. In that regard Nea Makri is unique. But: Since it was build there there has been no maintenance. Its crumbling and decaying but no effort is being made to maintain or improve it although it would have so much potential. You don't need a lot of money to replace old palm trees with new ones, put pillars where they are missing and make new paths where soon the waves brake the existing...

Nice atmosphere, the beach has some rocks, some tiny rocks(sand-like) and some rocks further down as you go further into the sea. The sea is the impressive as there are a few debris from other people like some cucumber I've seen floating and some other stuff but overall it's ok.
