“Beautiful beach with crystal-clear water – a few downsides though”
We visited Taos Beach (formerly Kalogria Beach) today with the family, and overall, it was a nice experience. The beach is very clean – spotless, actually – and the water is absolutely stunning: crystal-clear, calm, and just perfect for swimming.
We paid €20 for two sunbeds and one umbrella, which is quite standard in high season. Parking was a bit of a challenge though – the place was very crowded, and it took a while to find a spot. But hey, it’s peak season, so it was expected.
The service was okay, although the ladies working there could have been a bit friendlier. Maybe they were having a rough day – who knows.
In terms of pricing: you can easily spend around €20 per person if you also order drinks and snacks. Some prices felt a bit steep – for example, €5 for a soft drink like Coke or Fanta seems a bit much. On the other hand, bottled water for €0.50 was a nice surprise.
Overall, it was a pleasant day, and the beautiful sea alone made it worth it. I’m giving 4 stars, mostly because of the parking situation and the somewhat...
Read moreDuring our holiday in Chalkidiki we visited a few beaches, like the one in Nikiti, Vourvourou, Sarti, Kallithea and Afytos, but none of them was as great as this one. It's a sandy beach and on the left side (when you face the water) there are rocks where you can snorkle. In september 2021 we paid 10 euro for two beds and a beach unbrella. Just don't go to the right when you enter. There is a beach club where you can park easily and the beds are free. But you have to at least buy 4 drinks per person and the music is very loud. Just go to the beds in the middle. There isn't much space to park your car in the "free zone" so that can be a problem during the real tourist season.
We also went to "the most beautiful" beach of Chalkidiki, Kavourotrypes Beach. Yes, it looks nice in pictures, but there's only a small beach and not much space. You have to lie on big rocks and when we were there it was very crowded....
Read moreAbsolutely stunning. Shallow, sandy beach. Lots of rocky areas either side of the beach for a good snorkel.
Pedal boats available to hire, diving sessions too. Couple bars & restaurants close by.
Since the beach was so beautiful, we decided to get the more expensive beds right at the front - absolutely did not regret it. 35€ for 2, plus a beanbag, towels, nuts, ice bucket, safe box, and exceptional service from the waiters.
Great price for beers, cocktails cost no more than usual either. Food was decent, maybe a little pricy but okay considering the location.
If you don’t want to rent a bed, there’s plenty of space to lay your own chairs / blanket.
We arrived just before midday, and stayed the entire day, and could of stayed all night too.
We were actually staying in Kalamata but were recommended this place by a waiter. About 1 hour drive through the windey mountain...
