Totally overpriced for what it provides! Starting from the check in; we waited till 16:00 until we could enter our room. There was no space to leave our luggage except a dirty corner behind a bar- there’s no reception, the “hotel” is behind their restaurant and the smell of the food is really heavy and all around the place. The room was nice but the bed literally took the whole space, leaving no room to move. I hit myself several times at the edges of the bed. No wardrobes! The bathroom is tiny and one has to wash (shower) basically using the whole space as a shower, meaning the water goes into the entire bathroom. There are no mops available to clean the mess afterwards. I noticed there were no hangers for the towels either. Old plumbing, rusty pipes sticking out of the bathroom tiles- … The owner is nice, the view is beautiful, one can hear the waves during the night etc., but the whole experience was negative. I would never return and I don’t recommend. I love small family business and I understand the difficulties but this was...
Read moreMy wife and I visited Ag Ioannis on a day trip and found this restaurant, with a view to having a coffee and WC break. The menu wetted our appetite and we decided to have a more substantial lunch - we were so happy that we made that decision! The lady owner of the restaurant (contrary to our previous experiences on this holiday) was incredibly helpful, guiding us in our choices and instructing the chef to fillet the Dorado and Red Sea Bream that had been freshly caught that morning. We pushed out the boat and started with grilled haloumi with marmalade followed by whole calamari accompanied by a delightful Greek salad. The beautifully cooked fish came with a separate simple but dressing of oil, infused with lemon, garlic and oregano which enhanced the flavours. The dry but delicate rose wine proved to be a perfect partner for this sumptuous lunch. I have to say that this lunch made our day and I have no hesitation but to award a 5...
Read moreUnfortunately all negative comments about the waiting and the service are true. There were 3-4 more occupied tables, we waited about half an hour only for ordering then another half an hour only for the appetizer- zucchini and after all that - the main meal. The owner tried to apologize so she gave us wine and watermelon juice as a compliment, explaining that they are short on employees. But honestly the owner was sitting with the guests all night and if you don’t have enough people probably it’s better to work and to to chat with the customers. Also last year we had similar issue here so don’t expect anything more. The prices are a bit higher that the rest of the tavernas in the area. The location and the food was good but actually the food in every restaurant in this village is okay and we haven’t been disappointed so far. 4* only for the food, the rest doesn’t worth it and we won’t...
