Dafni Beach quickly became a personal favorite during my Zakynthos trip, especially for those who love swimming among vibrant marine life. The waters are teeming with various fish species and stunning underwater reefs, making it a paradise for snorkeling enthusiasts. It’s an unforgettable experience to explore the diverse seabed! To the left, there’s a long stretch of beach with a sign for a nudist area, where it’s incredibly peaceful, and you’ll find people camping with tents, adding to the relaxed vibe.
One tip: don’t fall for the parking scammers who try to ban beach umbrellas and direct you to specific tavernas, claiming it’s ‘their’ parking. If I’d known earlier, I would’ve headed to nearby tavernas or rent sunbeds for just €5. Alternatively, set up your own umbrella on the side to save money. Despite the parking hassle, Dafni Beach’s natural beauty, tranquil atmosphere, and rich marine ecosystem make it a must-visit. Arrive early to enjoy the serene vibe and...
Read moreIt was disappointing to see that one of the national parks in Zakynthos has become overly commercialized. The road to the beach is a dirt path, making it a difficult drive. As other reviews have mentioned, the only parking appears to be primarily for the tavernas and bars in the area. To park there, you are expected to spend your day at these establishments, which is something we don't mind doing to support local businesses. However, the commercialization has gone too far.
The upper section of the beach is filled with sunbeds, tavernas, and bars. Unfortunately, some parts of the beach are nesting sites for sea turtles, but many visitors set up tents right next to these sensitive areas. The beach itself is decent, featuring shallow waters with a mix of sand and rock. Is it worth visiting? No. Will we come...
Read moreAs soon as you enter the parking area, staff approach you and inform you that you must either purchase something from a nearby taverna or café, or rent sun loungers in order to park your car. On the road leading to the beach, you cannot park because they place red and white tape to show that parking is not allowed, effectively forcing you to pay them anyway to stay there. In other words, parking isn’t free, and it feels like you’re being forced to make a purchase just to enjoy the beach. This is important to keep in mind if you’re planning to visit, as it turns a simple beach trip into an additional expense. When staff and owners behave this way, it detracts from the overall experience at Dafni Beach. They could benefit from improving their customer service if they want to develop...
