1st cruise with Carnival and 1 time in Roatan and the experience with AJ's was remarkable. We had a group of 14 traveling together and we opted for the Behind the Scenes experience and let me tell you for $55.00 a person it was well worth it, definetly spend the extra $20 a person!!

Leaving the port be sure to take a taxi to eliminate the 7 min up hill walk to meet your driver, we had the amazing Gio (Giovanni). AJ's sends a driver to take you too see the guinea pigs, sloths, birds, and the monkeys. Everyone was extremely nice, knowledgeable, outgoing, and funny. After we finished seeing snd holding the animals, you meet up with your driver again (again Gio was amazing) and they take you to the Chocolate factory and so yummy and delicious. After the chocolate factory you can walk next door and browse the craft store. Once you conclude with this stop, you hop back on your shuttle (to reiterate Gio was amazing) and you go to the rum factory to taste scrumptious rum cake samples and shots of rum. You then load up and head to a private beach and they will even stop at the Roatan sign for pictures. Now that the day has concluded your driver (once again the amazing Gio) will take you straight back to the port and will bypass that hill walk.

To say you get way more for your buck is an understatement. You are transported in an ac vehicle and you learn all about the area as you drive past things.

Definitely keep this place in mind when traveling to Roatan!!

My only small complaint is they need a microphone and speakers in the vehicle so everyone can hear the history of the area but that's minor considering the exceptional service you get with Gio and...

Will definitely give this a 5 star experience for the price! I think it was literally like $20 a person or something like that. Stopped here before we went to Little French Key. First you start off seeing the guinea pigs which were really cool. Second you head into the cage with the sloths. I mean it's petty cool just to interact with the animals but don't expect much excitement from them as they are completely on chill mode. lol. Next you go into the bird cage and get to hold the birds which is fun getting to be up close to the color guys. The last stop is the monkey cage and these guys are wild as heck. You go into the cage and all line up side by side close to the fence. They let the monkeys in and they immediately just play leap frog across everyone's head. lol. They kept stealing my hat which was funny. I would suggest just hang on to anything loose they can take. I mean they can run far with it if they do take it. Overall a great family experience. They have a nice hand wash station that you can wash your hands at the end. We bought the picture package which was actually really cheap. They send you a link where you can go and download the pictures. A few of the pictures are from the package that I uploaded as you can tell the quality difference than the ones from my phone. I will definitely try this again...

My daughter’s favorite part of our vacation! Will 100% return on our next trip. I did research before arriving and compared all similar monkey/sloth experiences. These guys exceeded expectations. Contacted them via Facebook and text. They arranged a car to pick us up at hotel in West Bay (will pick up at cruise port, etc too) About 45 min from West Bay Beach and maybe 15 from cruise - so worth it!Very safe and friendly driver and less $ than a taxi. Once we arrived, we basically had a private tour and they did not rush us at all. The animals are very well taken care of and the staff is so friendly and fun to talk to. Everything is very clean and they make sure the animals get breaks when they’ve had enough interaction. They truly care about the animals and the animals are all up to date on vaccinations. The sloths and monkeys actually seemed to enjoy us holding them/playing with them. I could stay all day with the sloths and my daughter loved having the monkeys jump all over us! They just had their first baby sloth this year and we got to see her/him. Would 100% go back here and highly recommend for anyone young or old! Don’t hesitate to reach out and arrange directly - you’ll save money and...

We had a good time at AJ’s Monkeys and Sloths, though there were a few things that could have made the experience better. We saw a few monkeys, sloths, and birds, and while the overall visit was enjoyable, the interactions were more limited than expected. We weren’t allowed to hold the sloths, which was a little disappointing, but understandable since they’ve apparently been getting sick from human fragrances. That said, we did get to get up close to them and observe their behavior, which was still a special experience. The monkeys were in cages, and we got to feed them one pellet each. They were funny and playful, especially because they knew we had food. We also got to hold and feed guinea pigs, which was a fun little bonus. The staff were all very friendly and courteous, and clearly cared about the animals’ well-being. While we enjoyed the visit, we felt it was a bit pricey for the amount of interaction allowed. Overall, I’d recommend visiting if you're nearby and love animals, but it’s probably not a 5-star experience. More like 4 stars, mainly for the friendly staff and unique opportunity to see these animals up close. Our family did enjoy it though!!
