Overall this hotel is good, however, it has some drawbacks. The lighting system is controlled by touchpads that are back-lit during the night which shines a bright light in the room. There is a small analog clock on the nightstand that cannot be seen during the night. The beds have heavy duvet covers and the air conditioning does not go low enough to make it comfortable to sleep under the heavy duvet. There was a problem with the AC in my first room, so I was moved to another after maintenance couldn't fix the issue. Even though it was better in the next room, I still couldn't get the temperature below 19C (67F). On the bright side, the towels are fluffy and the TV is large and has screen mirroring capabilities. The outlets have USB charging ports and universal plugs so you don't need an adapter for dual-voltage devices (like a laptop). There's coffee and tea in the room, but the tea isn't the greatest quality - all the flavors tend to be bitter, even with a short steep. Laundry was returned quickly and folded properly, however, it was expensive! Breakfast buffet was good as well as most of our other meals. All of the restaurants were not yet open, so we our choices were limited. One evening, my colleague was served under-cooked chicken. She realized it right away and the chef brought a new plate and apologized. The conference center was nice overall, but the room had a sewer odor in it that the staff was trying to fix. There was no laptop available to use for our presentation nor a slide clicker-advancer even though it was requested multiple times. Check-in and out were fairly smooth. However, they take your passport out of sight to make a photocopy. It would feel better if they didn't have to take it so far away (who knows where they're taking it or what they're doing with it). Kidist and Bethlehem at reception were very helpful. Everyone walks through a metal detector and bag x-ray upon entering the compound. Overall, security was good.

I've stayed here twice now. Both were business trips. I'll rate each section out of 10 Reception/lobby 8/10 Staff - 10/10 - kind and very friendly Bedroom 9/10 - sheets are very clean white soft. Basic rooms a-bit tiny but okay. Good rain shower. A/C is very powerful Swimming pool 10/10 - see photos for your self. Lovely Infinity pool Spa - 10/10 - please book early Gym 10/10 - spacious and well equipped Breakfast 5/10 - one word - underwhelming😭. The only things I enjoyed was my egg coffee and juice. The baked beans looked dehydrated. Please improve the breakfast menu. Restaurants/Wine and bar - met all my expectations. I enjoyed their calamari it’s a must have. The local Ethiopian wine called Rift Valley was quite a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed the merlot. I had to buy two bottles in duty free to carry to Kenya. They have an online express check out so no stress. Airport transfer was seamless. The only think I would complain about it if your a light sleeper like me don’t take pool facing rooms. There is a nearby mosque that starts prayers at 530am and boom u can’t sleep anymore. I suffered from poor sleep 🥺

I have visited the place for several times, two times for staff get together, for a meeting and for the sunday traditional brunch. The inside view is more nicer than the outside. About the Sunday brunch (July 25, 2021), the staffs were friendly and active. We have noticed that some of the staffs have not wear their uniform cloth, which is not expected from such an International Hotel. The service is nice but since we know some of the staffs, not sure that it is because we knew each other or it is the same for all guests. The food at the Sunday traditional brunch was tasty but a little bit expensive. The desert was more testier. Even if one of the Head waiter tried to cheat us on our price, most of the staffs gave us the best service. About the meeting, the hall was full of people and some of the participants were standing because there were no available seats. The food was great. About the staff get together programs, both the first (January 11, 2021) and the second (January 21, 2023) events were nice. The second one is more better. We got an excellent and exceptional service.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hyatt Regency Addis, and the experience was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, elegant, and inviting. The food was absolutely delicious—each dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. What truly made the evening special was the outstanding service. We were warmly welcomed by Emebet, the hostess, who set the tone for the evening with her professionalism and kind demeanor. At the bar, Anteneh crafted excellent alcohol free drinks with skill and enthusiasm. Our servers, Hana and Asmamaw, were attentive, friendly, and ensured we had everything we needed throughout the night. Special thanks to Esayas and Yenenesh, the managers, whose presence and leadership were clearly reflected in the quality of service and attention to detail. Overall, Hyatt Regency Addis delivered an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for top-tier food, ambiance, and hospitality in Addis Ababa.

It’s located near a lot of amenities, taxi services , a supermarket, pharmacy. The rooms look great and everything is controlled using a remote . Entertainment is available on fridays , there is an Ethiopian show that happens . The food is amazing , a bit modern than traditional.

I was lucky to have dinner here with my colleagues. The meal was abundant and delicious 😋, featuring traditional Ethiopian dishes with generous portions. We enjoyed great food and fine wine, making it a wonderful evening.
