Sri Manchalamma Temple is a Hindu temple located in the town of Mantralayam, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is dedicated to Manchalamma, who is believed to be an incarnation of Parvati, the consort of Shiva. The temple is a popular pilgrimage site for devotees of Manchalamma and is also considered to be one of the most sacred places in Mantralayam.

History The temple is said to have been built in the 16th century by Sri Raghavendra Swamy, a saint and philosopher. According to legend, Raghavendra Swamy asked Manchalamma for permission to build a temple on her land. Manchalamma agreed, and the temple was built.

Architecture The temple is a small, brick-and-mortar structure with a simple facade. The main entrance to the temple is flanked by two stone pillars. The interior of the temple is decorated with colorful murals and sculptures. The main deity of the temple is a three-foot-tall idol of Manchalamma.

Religious Significance Manchalamma is considered to be the guardian deity of Mantralayam. Devotees believe that she protects the town and its people from harm. The temple is a popular place for worship and prayer, and many people come here to seek her blessings.

Shrine dedicated to Goddess Manchalamma, the Grama devata (village deity) of Mantralayam. The belief is to first take darshan of the goddess before going to see the Brindavana of Raghavendra Swami. One can take darshan from the courtyard (rightmost door). However, if you want to go inside the shrine you need to do so from inside the mutt after entering through the main door.
