We visited Aadhaar Restaurant near Hotel Abode, Mantralaya, mainly because we didn’t have any other dining options available in the area at the time. At first glance, the place seemed decent and clean, which gave us some hope. However, our overall dining experience turned out to be quite disappointing and frustrating.
The biggest drawback of this restaurant is the complete lack of table service. You are expected to go to the counter to place your order, which is fine in some casual setups, but here it felt more like a self-service canteen than a proper restaurant. After placing the order, we were told to wait, and it took around 15 minutes before we could collect our food — not from the same counter, but from a different one altogether. This meant we had to stand around and constantly check for our order to be ready, which really took away from any comfort or relaxation you'd expect during a meal out.
Once we finally received our food, we were again left to serve ourselves. There were no staff members attending to tables or assisting with anything. It was disappointing to see that despite providing absolutely no service — no table assistance, no order delivery, no help whatsoever — the food prices were surprisingly high. It really felt like the cost included services that the restaurant simply doesn’t offer.
For the kind of pricing they have, the least they could do is offer a basic level of hospitality. In contrast, even small local eateries usually make an effort to serve their guests at the table and show some courtesy, which was completely lacking here.
Overall, it was not a pleasant experience and definitely not worth the money. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone unless it’s the only option and you’re absolutely desperate for a meal. There are surely better places around that value customer experience more than...
Read moreReview of Dining experience @ AAHAAR restaurant: There were no descent hotels in Mantralayam. The food was a real issue in this place. Forget about any special dishes, we don't even get some descent south indian breakfast & Andhra rice meals. This hotel can be rated as 5 star for ambience & dining arrangement. Quite & pleasant Air conditioned dining hall was something this place was needed. But the quality of food & billing service needs improvement. Inorder to avoid Rubber elastic Roti's, we opted for chapatis. But the chapatis were stiff, rigid & tasteless. Panner butter masala was ok. Dal fry was good. Jeera rice was prepared with Basumati rice.... something different but it was good.
Billing was surprising. Most of the items were wrongly billed. In the bill we see that he has charged Rs 80 for 2 chapatis which is mentioned as Chapati Kurma. Upon questioning where's the Kurma?. The waiter says we have to ask specifically for. So "we didn't ask & so he didn't give" concept. 2 plates of Idli were billed whereas we had only 1 plate. The bill showed Rs 662/- . 2 items delivered were missing in the Bill. When asked he says bill is wrongly printed, but the actual amount is Rs 875/- which is handwritten on the bill. I don't know whether these kinda mistake was bonafide or malafide? Hope Management takes care of these kind of issues of...
Read moreI’m currently staying at the Abode hotel and wanted to share some honest feedback about the Aahar restaurant here.
Firstly, it’s quite disappointing that there’s no proper service, customers are expected to wait at the counter and then carry their own food to the table. That’s not acceptable anywhere, it’s a restaurant and not a dosa idly joint.
Secondly, the staff clearly needs training on how to speak to guests. There’s a serious lack of basic courtesy.
Coming to the food — it was a major letdown. We ordered three items, and none of them were good. The Schezwan fried rice, in particular, was extremely spicy to the point of being inedible. I could barely eat two bites and had to leave the rest. When I brought this up, the staff just shrugged and said, “Schezwan is spicy only,” instead of offering any solution or concern.
Charging almost ₹250 for that dish — which wasn’t even worth ₹50, feels like taking customers for a ride.
Overall, it feels like guests are being taken for granted. I hope you take this feedback seriously and make meaningful...
