Certainly the best restaurant in Mantralayam though it may be small. But the food served here is very tasty and enjoyable. We have been taking tiffin here for a few decades whenever we visit Mantralayam but still find the quality and quantity are very decent and not changed over the years. No need to ask for second opinion about it! Famous on the lines of MTR of Bengaluru, this local MTR is also very popular. The price is very cheap. For example Two idlies cost just 30/-, two Vadas, Masala Dosa, or Pongal cost Rs.40/-. Nothing more than Rs.40/-Coffee, Tea or milk is only Rs.10/-. Please see the price list in photos. The Sambhar, Chutney or Masala with Dosa are very tasty to relish. Only disadvantage is it is self service and people have to stand and eat. Ok here we go.. You get a zillion option of hotels in mantralaya, ignore them. Visit this hotel. It's right next to ATM booths. Don't get confused by the looks. Visit them, looks little old and unhygienic but it makes best of dishes in the area. Take dosa, Pongal, idly all will fulfill your hunger. Look nowhere else and go and grab some tasty food. A small hotel opposite to gate of gururayar temple in mantralayam. Its local name is MTR. The quantity quality of tiffin is really good as observed by us and other tourists. The fast food centre fro 6 am to 12 and 4 pm to 9 pm. Price reasonable. Only problem here is self service with standing only. No rest room. Disable friendly parking seating.
