Jorhat Science Centre & Planetarium — Attraction in Assam

Jorhat Science Centre & Planetarium is located at Old Circuit House Road, Atilagaon, Jorhat, Assam 785001.. This is the second Science nd Planetarium after the one at Guwahati.. The area it's covering is 1300 sq mtr.. It was inaugurated by Sri. Tarun Gogoi( Chief Minister of Assam) nd Smt. Chandresh Kumari Katoch( Minister of Culture of India ) nd also with the presence of Sri. Rana Goswami ( MLA ,jorhat ) on 06th of July 2013.. There is a beautiful park inside the premises, filled with beautiful flowers, shrubs, nd tress too.. The park is designed in a systematic manner, with arrangements of many knowledgeable things which helps the childrens to gain ideas about small those things while playing there.. There are Statues of 8 great personality at the entrance , with there historical deeds.. The Planetarium is build just after the park , where shows about different planets are being played.. The Main Science Centre Building is a 1 storied one, ground floor is completely about the Science used in Oil Sector nd 1st floor is for Kids..

Basically, Jorhat Science Center is all about the Story of OIL.. As we all know that Upper Assam is well known for Oil nd Tea.. The theam with what this Science Centre is about, is really awesome.. If u come here than u will be very happy to see all the step by step actions & requirements needed in OIL.. Oil is really a very important nd precious thing that we have, nd we all should try to save it by any mean we can.. If this is your first time visiting any science center then it would be fun, exciting, worth it and won't be disappointment. If you have visited other science center or museum then you can skip this one. But for me I have visited Kolkata Science City and Guwahati Science center before this place had open, and I still got excited when visited this place first time because it is in my home town

I have visited this place quite a few times. When it was brand new, it had all the bells and whistles and still does. But due to the lack of maintenance it has lost its beauty. Most of the fun stuff (exhibition which has moving part or movement in it) were either broken or under maintenance. Specially the first floor is getting the hit because most of the fun and exciting stuff are there. And its very sad to see these exciting place is...

Its has got a big projector planetarium and the science center is also very huge... It covers up a huge area.... The science center is well maintained wit lots of resources n aminities. The also conduct practical demonstration of various things for the viewers. One can learn alot about the petroleum industry n its working. They have also showcast various models of which exites the pople n viewer n gives them an opportunity to learn many newer n good stuffs...
