Kaggadasapura Lake — Attraction in Bengaluru

Such a huge and beautiful lake is NOT taken up by government to install STP to stop the sewage filling up the whole lake. The walking track is decent enough but the condition of the lake makes people not to use the walking track fully as expected. Lake should be converted into the big source of rain water harvesting than letting the sewage flow into it. By keeping this lake clean and hygiene,it will be good to the environment and other species which depends on the lake like birds and fishes.

Save Kaggdasapura Lake, Citizen group has been working on an initiative to press the government to completely develop the Lake as Lake rather is it sewage storage. Team themselves gather every Sunday to clean those weeds and tracks as matter of protest and bring awareness among the public. This was started in June 2017 and continue till today ..Hope the revival happens sooner than later.

Kaggadasapura lake is a sorry sight. The entire lake is covered in weeds and raw sewage flowing in seems to be the only water in the lake. Construction debris and garbage is dumped in the lake. Need attention from authorities and citizens around the area to clean it up and maintain it. The lake itself has pretty large space, and you can spot birds like Lapwings, spot billed ducks, spotted dove in the lake. Should be a great spot for walking, jogging, enjoying nature if this is cleaned up...
