There are 4 things that define a place:
Ambiance Food Cost Service
For me the ambiance was great, a lot of credit also goes to the Bangalore weather. The furniture is very old and as we all know that in the name of ambiance we have often seen cafes use old furniture and unplastered walls to shout out the funky / cool ambiance at your face. The furniture (chairs of course, no sitting on the table guys) is comfortable but make sure to keep (they are available at the he cafe, no need to carry from home) a couple of cushions if you are planning to sit for a long time.
Food: The menu is not very elaborate and has limited items. The cafe has tried to put something very different for the guests here which sometimes becomes a little complicated to understand. For me frankly the 2 main familiar options that popped out were humus and pasta. I didn't find the taste of what I ordered very great (Garam flat bread), I am sure the other items on the menu would be great. The portion size is adequate. Since the cafe has a small menu they have restricted themselves by not having any finger food on the menu which I think one likes if they are just sitting casually talking to a friend/s over a long time - this was a little let down. Because the nice ambiance wants you to sit a little longer and you can't keep having a main or a big salad, you need something to nibble upon.
I would say the cost is a little bit on the higher side but I think the ambiance might compensate for it.
Service is decent but can't really comment here as I and my friend were the only two at the time in the cafe.
Overall a decent place but don't go here expecting that you will get a very elaborate menu and they will have the traditional finger food - this place is not for that.
Great work on the ambiance guys...
Read moreI have heard about this place a lot and have been wanting to go since a lot of time. So on a Sunday night we head towards it. It is better to go with a reservation to this place because we didn't and we didn't get the best of table. The view is nice from rooftop but we couldn't get the seats that way. Ambience is refreshing and the cold breeze makes your day. The table we were offered didn't have the tissues nor the basics add-ons even. We had to remind them about it. We went for Pina Colada and Apple Mango Smoothie in the beverages. The Pina colada was okaish and not so great a taste . I hope they go way with better presentations on the beverages. It was just plain glass. The Apple Mango Smoothie had a tinge which was nice. We ordered a Spicy Chicken burger and the Om Special Quiche. The orders were served way well in time. The burger had a side of banana and tapioca chips and salad. It was medium in size. The taste was good but the chicken was little hard on some parts. I found it overpriced. The quiche was a new thing to try. It was a small triangular pastry puff base with veggies and and topped with cheese with salad and a sweet-and-sour sauce on side. The quiche was crumbly but lacked taste. The place is quiet overpriced for the food. But the view is nice for a crisp Bangalore evening. The service is well enough fast but was hoping for a...
Read moreLet’s see if I can get this to make you understand. Imagine that you had a busy Saturday with all the guests, formalities and late nights. Then imagine a lazy Sunday and you are out for a fresh air and some hot coffee under the setting sun on the roof top. You’d find a place OM made cafe and you go for it. Found a table, settle down and just after you have ordered and about to have a little conversation with whatever company you got and there is a sudden blast of music. That music made all the stewards deaf, along with my wife and suddenly you wanna jump from the same terrace or throw some one from that same terrace that OM guys boast about. If I wanted a blast dj music, I would go to a pub, a bar or a shady dark place! Requested the stewards to lower down the volume, he said it was out of his control. Went to DJ and asked him to explain himself and he says he only plays it over weekend (with cherry on top) I left that place after having a sandwich which was partitioned in 4 shapes. And the moment you pick one chunk in your hand, the filling will fall over in the plate. The music was so loud that I could hear it till the lane behind where I had parked my car. Thanks guys for a wonderful experience which I won’t be...
