I recently visited The Thalakaaveri Cafee, and it truly lived up to its tagline — Incredible Taste, The Kaveri Way! The restaurant offers seating on two floors — the ground floor is self-service, while the upstairs section provides full waiter service along with a lovely balcony that gives an outdoor-like dining experience. The ambience throughout is warm and welcoming, and the washroom is clean and well-maintained.
I tried the Ghee Roast Dosa, Pepper Mini Idlis, Ghee Podi Mallige Idlis, and Coffee, and every dish was excellent.
The Ghee Roast Dosa was delicious — thin, crisp, and generously made with ghee in authentic Tamil style.
The Pepper Mini Idlis were a novelty and full of flavor.
The Ghee Podi Mallige Idlis were soft, fluffy, and coated with a tasty Tamil-style podi.
The chutneys — white coconut, orange onion, and green coriander — were all Tamil-style and perfectly complemented the dishes. The Sambar was classic Tamil tiffin-style, rich and comforting. The Coffee was just perfect, and my request for a strong version was followed exactly.
Overall, I absolutely loved my experience here. Great ambience, authentic flavors, and attentive service make this a place I’d love to visit again and again. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys true Tamil cuisine served with care...
Read moreI recently visited Thalakaaveri in Koramangala, and honestly, it turned out to be one of the best South Indian meals I’ve had in a long time. there’s something so comforting and soulful about the food here — it instantly draws you in.The moment the plates arrived, I could smell the ghee, curry leaves, and roasted spices, and everything looked so inviting. The ghee roast was beautifully crisp and rich, and the sambar had that perfect home-style flavor — tangy, aromatic, and balanced. Even the sides in the meals showed how much care goes into every dish. What sets Tala Kaveri apart is that it doesn’t try to “modernize” tradition. The place stays true to its roots — bringing together flavors from across the Kaveri region, from Coorg to Thanjavur — yet it feels so warm and welcoming to anyone, even if you didn’t grow up with these dishes. The staff were cheerful and attentive, and the ambiance had that calm, cozy vibe that makes you want to linger over another cup of coffee. For me, this meal wasn’t just delicious — it was a little cultural journey on a plate. I left full, happy, and planning my next visit. Definitely a...
Read moreI had the Thalakaaveri meals priced at ₹149/-. Including CGST, SGST, and service charges, the total came to around ₹164/-, which I found reasonable considering the ambiance and location in Koramangala.
When it comes to food presentation, it was good (though it could be improved). The taste was okay overall — the rasam stood out as really good, while the rest of the items were just average.
This was my first visit here, and based on this experience, this is my current review. I’m planning to visit again to try different items on the menu, so my review might change in the future.
P.S. to the restaurant: Please increase the cutlery on the table (for example, small spoons for sweets), provide a finger bowl at the end of the meal, and ensure the food is served hot — it would make the experience...
