The Rotary International Dolls Museum, located in Rajkot, Gujarat, is a unique and enchanting museum dedicated to showcasing the cultural diversity and traditions of the world through an extensive collection of dolls. Established in 2001 by the Rotary Club of Rajkot Midtown, this museum has gained widespread recognition for its impressive array of over 1,600 dolls donated by Rotary Clubs from more than 102 countries, making it one of the largest collections of its kind in India and earning it a place in the Limca Book of Records.

The museum is housed on the second floor of the Nagrik Bank Building on Yagnik Road, a central location easily accessible to visitors. Spread across two floors, the museum provides visitors with an immersive cultural journey, where dolls from around the globe are displayed in traditional attire representative of their native regions. Each doll is showcased within window settings that replicate the cultural and geographical context of its origin, offering visitors a glimpse into the world’s diverse heritage.

The vision behind the Rotary Dolls Museum was conceived by Rotarian Mr. Deepak Agrawal, driven by the desire to create a space where people of all ages, especially children, can learn about world cultures, traditions, and histories in an engaging and entertaining way. The museum fulfills this mission by combining education with joy, making it both a cultural landmark and a fun destination for families.

The collection includes dolls that represent a broad spectrum of traditional clothing, customs, and occupations. Visitors can marvel at dolls dressed in intricate regional costumes, traditional wedding attire, and ceremonial outfits from various countries – from the colorful saris of India to the elegant kimonos of Japan. The museum not only reflects cultural diversity but also highlights the craftsmanship and artistry involved in doll-making.

Educational programs and creative activities are integral to the museum’s offerings, encouraging children to explore different cultures through interactive workshops, storytelling sessions, and cultural exhibits. This focus on education extends to adults as well, providing information that enhances knowledge about global traditions, languages, and international business prospects.

The museum also houses a Cinematheque featuring documentaries and educational films by renowned content producers such as Discovery Channel, National Geographic, and Britannica. This adds a multimedia dimension to the learning experience, complementing the static displays with dynamic visual content.

Visitors consistently praise the Rotary Dolls Museum for its unique concept, detailed displays, and the welcoming atmosphere created by its staff. The museum is deemed particularly suitable for children and school groups, as it combines learning with entertainment effectively.

Entry to the museum is affordable, with a nominal fee charged to support maintenance and educational activities. The facility also includes a souvenir shop and a library, offering visitors the chance to take home memorabilia or delve deeper into...

The International Doll Museum is a captivating celebration of cultural diversity, where each country's unique heritage and traditions are beautifully showcased through the art of dolls. This museum is not just a display of figurines; it's a global journey through time, symbolizing the intricate beauty of costumes, customs, and craftsmanship from every corner of the world. What sets this museum apart is its dedication to highlighting not only the dolls themselves but also their connections to the monarchies and royal histories of each represented country.

Managed by the Rotaract Clubs from each participating country, the museum offers an authentic, volunteer-driven perspective on the world’s diverse societies. These Rotaract clubs are integral to the museum's operations.

As you walk through the halls, you’ll find dolls dressed in traditional attire, each telling the story of their nation’s history, culture, and leadership. Some dolls represent modern-day queens and royal figures, while others provide a glimpse into the past, recreating the royal attire and demeanor of queens who ruled centuries ago. It's a place that merges art, history, and global unity.

The attention to detail is truly impressive. From the fine fabrics and hand-stitched garments to the intricate jewelry and accessories, every doll captures the essence of its origin. This dedication to authenticity is a testament to the hard work and passion of the Rotaract Clubs, who strive to provide visitors with a deeper understanding of the world's monarchies & cultures.

It's not just a museum; it's a celebration of the world’s diversity and the important figures who have influenced its path. Whether you’re an art enthusiast, a history buff, or simply someone who appreciates fine craftsmanship, this museum is a must-visit destination.

First in Gujarat its type...... The proud of Rajkot.

The Rotary Dolls Museum ( RDM ) is located in the city of Rajkot, State of Gujarat , India (South Central Asia.). This unique Museum gives an overview to the culture and traditions of the world at large through a medium of dolls. The Rotary Clubs across the world have generously donated these Dolls to the Rotary Club of Rajkot Midtown. This vision was conceived in 2001 by the Rotarian Mr. Deepak Agrawal. To view in detail the path from conception to the birth on this Rotary Dolls Museum, While the vision has been to create a Dolls Museum where children and adults both gain from, the mission has been yet noble and simple, Love, Care and Concern for Humanity.

In today’s technological age, when we talk of the world being a “Global Village”, we effectively have brought the world under one roof in this Museum with more than 1600+ ethnic and traditional dolls from over 102 countries across the globe. The dolls are showcased with window dressing replicating the place from where it hails. This is a gesture of Tender Loving Care for the Dolls which should not feel out of place having travelled so much to reach the City of Rajkot.

This International & Community service activity – The Dolls Museum houses its doll collection, and maintains permanent archives of historical documents related to dolls for the study and enjoyment of members and the viewing public. The Museum supports various creative activities for children and helps adults with information on various countries, different languages and business...

A unique museum!! It's a rare opportunity to see a Dolls museum, here in Rajkot. Good to visit with children. The museum is situated on 2&3 rd floors. The lift was not working when we reached there. We had to climb steps. It was built by an ex Rotary president of Rajkot for his daughter. He wrote mails to Rotary branches of the world and hence many international branches sent dolls representing their country and regions. It takes around 1 hour to see all the exhibits. The rooms are air conditioned. The tickets cost ₹30 per adult and ₹15 per child. It costs another ₹125 if you want to click photos. The dolls represent their country's costume and culture. Children can spend good time there. However make sure they have emptied their bladder before. Because the toilet here is a medieval era one, on the ground floor. I wish the Rotary club would pay attention and renovate the toilet as kids come to this place.
